Busting The Common Myths Relating Granite Countertops
Granite countertops are a big plus to your kitchen. Not only these are exceptionally beautiful, but also possess the desired durability demanded by the people.
Though superlative in almost every respect, there are certain myths relating granite countertops in Dallas. However, myths are myths and you never need to go with them while purchasing the product for your kitchen.
Here are some of the most common granite countertop myths, to which you need to know the real truth:
Myth 1: Granite Countertops Are Absolutely Heat Resistance
Reality: The countertops could bear certain amounts of heat, but regularly exposing them to heated pans and pots etc. could damage their outer surface and also cause discoloration. Apart from this, if the countertop has some invisible weak point, extreme heat could lead to cracks in the material.
Myth 2: All Granite Countertops Need Regular Resealing Every Year
Reality: Granite stone occurs in various varieties. For your countertops, you can get materials which are priced as less as $30 per square foot and as high as $150 per square foot. While the ones with the lower initial costs may need constant resealing, the high-grade black stones may never need any sealing.
Myth 3: Granite Countertops Never Stain, Crack Or Chip
Reality: If you hear this, do not start testing your countertops by hitting it with a hammer. Though the stain-resistance and crack-security depends on the quality of the granite obtained, almost all of these kinds are prone to chipping, cracking and stains etc.

Myth 4: Granite Countertops Are High In Maintenance
Reality: It’s generally a misconception when they call granite countertops high in maintenance or sensitive to cleaning stuff. In fact, you need nothing more than a mild soap solution and some water to clean the countertops. And what causes damage to the surface are the abrasive solutions or acids used to clean the countertops.
Myth 5: Granite Countertops Are Extremely Expensive
Reality: This is one of the worst myths associated with granite countertops. Due to its high durability and extremely superlative appearance, granite is considered one of the priciest countertop materials. However, as already mentioned, granite countertops are available in lots of varieties and not every one of these would devour your bank accounts.
So while you hear any or some of these myths associated with the granite countertops, it’s important to consider the materials you are obtaining and the kind of services you receive.

August 7, 2019, 2:12 pm REPLYThat’s good to know that you could use basic soap to clean your granite countertop. I would think that would make cleaning it much easier if you don’t have to use a specific chemical on it. I’ll have to remember that if I decide to get a granite countertop when I redo my kitchen.
