Products Description

Nomex Anti-Heat SF0203

Brand: SATA | Model: SF0203 | Type: Aramid (Nomex) knitted anti?heat gloves | Colour: Yellow

SF0203 is a SATA Nomex anti?heat glove with an aramid knit liner. It offers Level 2 flame resistance and Level 2 contact heat performance, allowing short?term contact with hot surfaces up to 250 °C for more than 15 seconds and long?term operation at 200 °C. Reinforced knitting at the purlicue improves wear resistance, and the ambidextrous design helps save cost by allowing use on either hand. It is widely used in welding support, foundries, heat treatment and oven operations where high temperatures are present.

Key Features

01

Interchangeable left and right gloves, saving use cost

Ambidextrous design reduces idle stock caused by left/right mismatches and simplifies inventory management, lowering total cost of ownership.

02

Reinforced knitting at the purlicue for higher wear resistance

Reinforced knitting in the crotch area between thumb and index finger increases resistance to abrasion and tearing, extending glove life in high?stress zones.

03

Level 2 flame resistance, burning time less than 3 seconds

Material meets Level 2 flame resistance requirements and self?extinguishes quickly after removal from the flame, limiting flame spread in high?temperature environments.

04

Level 2 contact heat – exposure up to 250 °C for more than 15 seconds

Provides Level 2 contact heat performance, allowing brief contact with hot surfaces up to 250 °C for over 15 seconds, suitable for gripping hot workpieces and short incursions into high?temperature zones.

05

Long?term operation at 200 °C

Can be used continuously in ambient temperatures up to 200 °C, meeting the needs of common heat treatment, baking and welding support tasks.

06

Aramid (Nomex) knit liner – lightweight and heat resistant

Aramid fibers offer excellent heat and flame resistance while remaining lightweight, supporting both protection and operational flexibility.

Applications

  • Welding, cutting and related hot work for auxiliary handling and gripping of hot parts (as a liner or secondary protection together with specialized welding gloves).satatools.com
  • Foundry and metallurgy operations such as ladle handling, mold movement and hot billet handling.
  • Heat treatment and oven operations including loading/unloading workpieces and fixture handling.
  • Glass processing and ceramic sintering where moderate to high temperatures must be handled.
  • General industrial high?temperature tasks requiring Level 2 flame and contact heat protection (e.g., hot piping, equipment surface inspection and maintenance).

Usage & Selection Notes

  • For welding, foundries or other tasks involving molten metal splash or intense radiant heat, prioritize appropriate welding/foundry gloves; use SF0203 as a secondary or liner glove where higher dexterity is needed.
  • Do not use near open flames or on surfaces hotter than the rated temperatures, and avoid exposure to aggressive chemicals.
  • Inspect gloves before each use; do not use if they show significant wear, charring or damage.
  • Control contact time and cumulative exposure during high?temperature tasks; schedule cooling breaks to avoid burns.
  • When combining with other PPE (e.g., cut?resistant or chemical?resistant layers), ensure compatibility and maintain acceptable grip and dexterity.
Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can this glove be used directly for arc or gas welding?

A: This model is an anti?heat knitted glove suitable for gripping hot workpieces and auxiliary tasks. For arc or gas welding with risks of spatter and radiant heat, use appropriate welding gloves; this glove can serve as a liner for additional thermal comfort and protection.

Q: What does "250 °C for more than 15 seconds" and "long?term operation at 200 °C" mean?

A: Under standardized test conditions, Level 2 contact heat performance allows the glove to limit heat transfer so that the inner side stays below the burn threshold for at least 15 seconds at 250 °C. "Long?term operation at 200 °C" indicates the material can withstand continuous exposure at that ambient temperature, but actual use should consider contact duration, frequency and individual tolerance, with cooling breaks if necessary.

Q: What are the benefits of an aramid (Nomex) liner?

A: Aramid fibers provide excellent heat and flame resistance, do not melt and drip, and remain lightweight and strong. They are ideal for high?temperature applications but do not replace specialized cut?resistant or chemical?resistant gloves.

Q: Does the ambidextrous design affect fit?

A: To allow left/right interchangeability, the pattern is symmetric, which may reduce contour fit compared with handed gloves. For high?temperature handling and general gripping tasks, this trade?off is usually acceptable.

Q: Can these gloves be washed and reused?

A: Hand wash in cold water with mild detergent and air dry. Avoid high temperatures and strong solvents to preserve aramid properties. Replace if you see significant wear, charring or deformation.

Q: How do I choose the right size?

A: This model is Size 10. For best performance and comfort, measure your dominant hand circumference and choose a size that provides a snug but comfortable fit without restricting circulation.
