Data from the China Internal Combustion Engine Association shows that sales of internal combustion engines totaled 5.069 million units in September, a year-on-year increase of 21.14%. Cumulative sales from January to September reached 39.6696 million units, a year-on-year increase of 15.73%.
By market application, commercial vehicle internal combustion engine sales totaled 235,700 units in September, while construction machinery sales reached 79,500 units. From January to September, cumulative sales for commercial vehicles reached 1.9789 million units, while construction machinery sales totaled 684,400 units.
Year-on-year, sales for commercial vehicles increased by 31.89%, while those for construction machinery increased by 2.47%. Year-on-year, sales for commercial vehicles increased by 9.72%, while those for construction machinery decreased by 0.10%.
By fuel type, sales of diesel internal combustion engines reached 421,800 units in September, including 170,400 for commercial vehicles and 73,200 for construction machinery. From January to September, diesel engine sales reached 3,826,400 units, with 1,484,500 for commercial vehicles and 644,200 for construction machinery.
In September, sales of multi-cylinder diesel engines for construction machinery reached 72,300 units, a month-on-month increase of 26.05% and a year-on-year increase of 1.60%. Cumulative sales from January to September reached 633,400 units, a year-on-year increase of 0.88%. The top ten sales companies were Xinchai, Quanchai, Yunnei, Yuchai, Weichai, Dongkang, Carter, Guangkang, New Power Technology, and Jiefang Power, accounting for 95.42% of total sales.
