For the maintenance of the battery, maintain a certain height of electrolyte level according to the use requirements, and put the electrolyte in the glass tube back after measurement. If the level is not high enough, add distilled water in time. Do not add spring water, river water and tap water, and do not add dilute sulfuric acid, otherwise the electrolyte density will increase and the electrode plate will be damaged. Attention should also be paid to; Distilled water shall be added when the battery is in the charged state to ensure that the electrolyte is mixed more evenly; The liquid level shall not be too high to prevent electrolyte overflow during charging and discharging.
Timely remove the yellow and white paste on the shell cover the yellow and white paste on the battery shell cover is the result of electrochemical corrosion at the electrode pile due to the sulfuric acid solution splashed around the battery shell cover and the electrode pile.
The white substance is lead sulfate, and the yellow substance is iron sulfate, which is highly corrosive and has a large resistance. If it is at the contact of wires, it will form a large contact resistance, resulting in poor conductivity.
For this reason, alkaline water or cotton yarn soaked in 10% soda water or 10% ammonia solution can be used to wipe away the electrolyte spilled from the battery shell and shell cover, so that the surface is always neutral. If there is oxide in the gap between pole and wire joint, it can be scraped with tools.
Regular supplementary charging generally, the discharged battery shall be charged within 24h; For the storage battery on the stopped machine (or large equipment not used temporarily), it must be recharged once a month; The battery in use shall be removed every two months for supplementary charging.
Check the density of electrolyte regularly. The density of electrolyte must be appropriate to the region and season. According to practical experience, around summer in most parts of China, the relative density of electrolyte of newly charged batteries can reach that of used batteries when they are recharged. The relative density of electrolyte should be kept at 1.15 ~ 1.18g/ m3. In autumn, the relative density of electrolyte shall be gradually increased from 1.18g/ M3 to 1.25g/ m3, adjusted to 1.285g/ m3 in winter, and distilled water shall be gradually added in Spring Festival to reduce the relative density.
