The production of truck-mounted cranes in my country started late. By the 1980s, the variety and output of truck-mounted cranes showed an increasing trend. In recent years, the total production and sales of truck-mounted cranes in the domestic market have increased rapidly. From 2017 to 2019, the sales of truck-mounted cranes increased year by year, reaching 15,432 units in 2019.
The main manufacturers of truck-mounted cranes in the country include Xuzhou Xugong Truck-mounted Crane Co., Ltd., Sany Palfinger Special Vehicle Equipment Co., Ltd., Shijiazhuang Coal Mining Machinery Co., Ltd. Truck-mounted Crane Branch, Taian Furukawa Truck-mounted Crane Co., Ltd. and Changchun Shenjun Special Vehicle Manufacturing Co., Ltd. Among them, the market share of XCMG truck-mounted cranes is more than 50%, and the sales volume of truck-mounted cranes in 2019 was 10017 units. The production and sales of truck-mounted cranes are basically concentrated in the top five enterprises.
From the perspective of industry concentration, in 2018, CR3 was 85.29% and CR5 was 93.76%, indicating a high degree of industry concentration. From a regional perspective, Hubei Province has the largest number of licenses for truck-mounted cranes in the country, with 388 licenses in the first quarter of 2020, ranking second in Guangdong Province, with 200 licenses in the first quarter.

By the end of the 1970s, the variety of truck-mounted cranes produced nationwide was still very single and the production scale was small. By the 1980s, the variety and output of truck-mounted cranes showed an increasing trend. In recent years, the total production and sales of truck-mounted cranes in the domestic market have increased more rapidly.
From the perspective of overall industry sales, from 2012 to 2019, China's truck-mounted crane sales showed a fluctuating trend. After experiencing a brief decline in 2013, the sales volume of truck-mounted cranes resumed its rise in 2014, reaching 11042 units. Affected by the cycle of the truck-mounted crane industry from 2015 to 2016, the sales of truck-mounted cranes have dropped significantly, to 7,877 units in 2016. This is because the downward pressure on domestic economic growth has increased and the pain of economic structural adjustment has intensified. The domestic and foreign demand situation is severe, which poses greater challenges to the construction machinery industry. The real estate industry, which is highly related to construction machinery, continues to decline, and construction cranes bear the brunt.
After the sales volume bottomed out in 2016, the vehicle sales volume ushered in a strong rebound, reaching 10,773 units in 2017, a year-on-year increase of 36.77%, the largest increase in recent years. From 2018 to 2019, the sales of truck-mounted cranes maintained growth, and the growth rate has slowed down. In 2019, the sales volume of truck-mounted cranes was 15,432 units, a year-on-year increase of 9.57%. From January to June 2020, it sold 9,416 units.
2. The production and sales of truck-mounted cranes in China are concentrated in the top five companies, with a high degree of industry concentration
At present, my country’s truck-mounted cranes are almost concentrated in the following five companies: Xuzhou Xugong Truck-mounted Crane Co., Ltd., Sany Palfinger Special Vehicle Equipment Co., Ltd., Shijiazhuang Coal Mining Machinery Co., Ltd. Truck-mounted Crane Branch, Taian Guhe Truck-mounted Crane Branch Crane Co., Ltd. and Changchun Shenjun Special Vehicle Manufacturing Co., Ltd. In 2015, the sales of truck-mounted cranes from the five companies accounted for more than 85%, and in recent years it has reached more than 90%.
Since 2015, XCMG trucks have occupied more than half of the industry’s market, accounting for more than 50%, and its market share is on the rise, currently reaching more than 60%; followed by Sany Palfinger Special Vehicle Equipment Co., Ltd. , The market share is about 8%-17%; Shijiazhuang Coal Mining Machinery Co., Ltd. Truck-mounted Crane Branch has a market share of 9%-15%; Taian Guhe Truck-mounted Crane Co., Ltd. has a market share of 3%-5%; Changchun The market share of Shenjun Special Vehicle Manufacturing Co., Ltd. is around 2%-4%.

In the first quarter, the number of licensed cranes was 388, accounting for 16.03% of the country. Guangdong Province ranked second in the number of licensed cranes in the first quarter. 200 units, accounting for 8.26% of the country; Jiangsu Province ranked third, with 194 units licensed in the first quarter, accounting for 8.01% of the country’s total; Shandong Province ranked fourth, with 164 units licensed in the first quarter, accounting for 6.77% of the country’s total %.
