Liebherr showed four wheel loaders at the show. This includes an L 566 XPower? with a new auxiliary system. Liebherr will present the auxiliary systems of these wheel loaders for the first time at this exhibition. Including intelligent human-machine safety detection system, adaptive work lighting system, integrated tire pressure monitoring system and self-weighing system to match the weight of the truck. The L 566 XPower? is also equipped with a new wheel loader joystick steering system.
At the booth, you can also see Liebherr's largest tonnage wheel loader L 586 XPower?. Liebherr installs a standard power split drive system in all XPower? wheel loaders. The combination of hydrostatic transmission and mechanical transmission is suitable for short distance loading and unloading cycles, long distance loading and uphill and downhill operations. As a result, the XPower? transmission system ensures maximum fuel savings and high performance in any construction situation.
L 538 on the platform represents the classic model of Liebherr medium-sized wheel loader. It is equipped with a parallel link boom structure to ensure the large torque output of the boom during high lift. This industrial boom is suitable for heavy attachments such as high tip buckets. For customers from Central and South American countries, Liebherr is showing an L 550 loader. It is also one of the representative models of the Liebherr wheel loader series, suitable for markets with lower emissions requirements.
Inductive human-machine safety detection system will greatly improve safety and prevent accidents
The new auxiliary system of the Liebherr wheel loader improves the comfort and safety of daily operations in a variety of ways. They allow machine operators to better focus on using Liebherr wheel loaders. One innovation, for example, is active personnel detection at the rear. The system uses automatic alarms and audible signals on the display to indicate danger at the rear of the wheel loader.

A special feature is that the active personnel safety detection system uses sensors to automatically distinguish people from things. If someone moves behind the machine, the system alerts the operator. For people in a hazardous area, it will provide a warning distance greater than that for static objects such as walls or columns. Operators receive more specific warnings about imminent personal injury. This avoids unnecessary warning signals and reduces stress on the machine operator.
By the end of 2020, Liebherr will expand the installation of safety inspection systems on large XPower? wheel loaders and add an auxiliary braking system. In addition to the warning signals in the cab, the automatic braking system provides additional assistance to the machine operator. The auxiliary braking function helps reduce the reaction time during braking. This further increases safety and reduces the risk of serious accidents.
New joystick steering system with inductive feedback and position control
The new joystick steering system provides an innovative steering experience for the L 526 to L 586 XPower series wheel loaders and is currently available as an option. It allows the machine operator to drive comfortably with one hand. Especially in operations involving a large number of steering operations, the joystick steering system uses short movements on the ergonomically shaped joystick to replace the dense rotation of the steering wheel, thereby ensuring less effort and easier work, achieving higher Efficiency output. During driving, the left arm can always be kept in the most comfortable position. Even when changing the direction, the left hand does not need to leave the joystick. Tap the switch on the control element to change the driving direction at any time.

The new joystick of Liebherr wheel loaders is simple and intuitive to operate. One reason is that the position of the joystick always corresponds to the current articulation angle of the wheel loader. Compared with the traditional joystick steering system, the new steering system collects the feedback force on the joystick and outputs it in real time, which sets the benchmark in terms of ease of operation. The Liebherr wheel loader with the new joystick steering system maintains maximum safety and comfort even at high speeds or under severe conditions.
Like most auxiliary systems, the new joystick steering system is also available in the L 526 to L 586 XPower? series. In addition, for L 566 XPower? to L 586 XPower? models, Liebherr offers a cab and joystick steering system without a steering wheel and steering column. In the steering-less version, the spacious cab of the XPower? wheel loader provides machine operators with greater space and visibility.
L 586 XPower? is the largest tonnage wheel loader that Liebherr will show at the 2020 CONEXPO in Las Vegas. As standard, it is equipped with a power split drive system.
The active personnel safety detection system at the rear prevents personal injury. From the end of 2020, Liebherr will expand the auxiliary system and configure auxiliary braking functions.
In the new joystick steering system of Liebherr wheel loaders, the position of the joystick always corresponds to the corresponding articulation angle of the wheel loader.
