From January to September this year, the proportion will reach 9.6%, 5.5 percentage points higher than the proportion of new energy in the whole heavy truck market (4.1%).

This is because the heavy dump truck, which is responsible for infrastructure transportation, muck transportation and mineral transportation, has made rapid progress in new energy under the national "dual carbon" strategy. The overall trend of the new energy heavy truck market is the same as that of the new energy heavy truck market. The year-on-year growth rate of the new energy dump truck market in September was significantly narrower than that of the previous months. This is because the new energy dump truck market began to "increase" in September last year. The average monthly sales volume in the last four months exceeded 400 vehicles, while the average monthly sales volume from January to August last year was less than 100 vehicles.

By September 2022, the continuous growth momentum of the new energy dump truck market since last June has expanded to "16 consecutive increases". However, from another perspective, the average monthly sales volume of new energy dump trucks in the market from January to September this year was about 400 vehicles, significantly higher than the level of about 300 vehicles in the second half of last year. From January to September 2022, there will be 26 provinces (cities and districts) nationwide with new energy dump trucks on the road (no new ones will be added in September), showing a very uneven regional distribution. Hebei, Henan, Shanxi and other provinces with high environmental pressure, many mining plants or clear requirements for the electrification of residue trucks have received most of the shares of new energy dump trucks. The total number of licensed vehicles in the above three provinces alone has reached 2171, taking away more than 60% (61.1%) of the actual sales of new energy dump truck terminals from January to September this year. In addition to the above three provinces, six provinces (districts) including Shandong, Sichuan, Jiangsu, Inner Mongolia, Hubei and Anhui also have more than 100 new energy dump trucks, while other provinces (cities and districts) have less than 100 new energy dump trucks.

From the perspective of fuel types, the technical route of new energy dump trucks from January to September this year is dominated by pure electric vehicles, which is the same as that of the whole new energy heavy truck market. From January to September this year, 3553 new energy dump trucks were put on the road nationwide, including 3397 pure electric vehicles, 152 fuel cell vehicles and 4 hybrid vehicles, accounting for 95.61%, 4.28% and 0.11% respectively.

From January to September this year, the competition in the new energy dump truck market was not less fierce than that in the hot new energy tractor market. Taking the champion of the monthly list, there were four enterprises, including XCMG, Sany, Yutong and Beiben, who tasted the taste of champions. Before August, no enterprise could win the championship of the monthly list in the new energy dump truck market. In July and August, XCMG won the championship of the monthly list for two consecutive months. In September, the champion of the monthly list changed again.

In September, Sany Group won the first place in the monthly sales list of new energy dump trucks with 232 vehicles. This is the third time that Sany has won the first place in this year. The first two times were in February and May respectively. It is worth mentioning that while Sany won the monthly list in September, it also surpassed Yutong and XCMG to become the cumulative sales champion of new energy dump truck market from January to September this year.

As of September, 18 "players" in the field of new energy dump trucks had entered the field this year, while only 11 enterprises, including Nanjing Jinlong, Beiben, Xugong, Hongyan, Sany, Hanma Technology, Yutong, Shaanxi Automobile, Futian, BYD and Dongfeng, had new energy dump trucks on sale in the same period last year. Only 6 enterprises sold more than 100 vehicles in the new energy dump truck market last year. From January to September this year, 10 enterprises in the new energy dump truck market sold more than 100 vehicles in total. BYD, Dayun and other enterprises also have the opportunity to enter the new energy dump truck market this year to sell more than 100 vehicles in the club.

From the perspective of growth, since only 11 enterprises achieved sales in the same period last year, and many enterprises only had single digit sales, the new energy dump truck market from January to September this year was dominated by growth, while FAW Jiefang, Dayun and other enterprises achieved net growth; Dongfeng, Foton and BYD achieved a surge due to their small base in the same period last year; Sany, XCMG, Yutong, Hanma Technology and Beiben increased by 994%, 384%, 1235%, 426% and 97% year on year respectively; Nanjing Golden Dragon, which ranked first in the sales volume of new energy dump trucks in the same period last year, sold only 19 vehicles in January September this year, a year-on-year decrease of 91%, and only ranked 15th in the industry after September.

In terms of market share, Sany, XCMG and Yutong, the top three companies in terms of cumulative sales volume, have all sold more than 600 vehicles, 700 vehicles, 697 vehicles and 654 vehicles, respectively. The cumulative share has all exceeded 10%, reaching 19.7%, 19.62% and 18.41%, respectively. The gap is very small; The cumulative sales of Hanma Technology and Beiben, which ranked fourth and fifth, also exceeded 200, reaching 326 and 298 respectively, with the cumulative share of 9.18% and 8.39% respectively, with the difference of less than 1%; The cumulative sales volume of new energy dump trucks of FAW Jiefang, ranking sixth, from January to September this year approached 200, reaching 190, with a cumulative share of 5.35%; The cumulative sales of Dongfeng, Foton, Hongyan and Shaanqi all exceeded 100 vehicles, reaching 157, 143, 125 and 101 respectively, temporarily ranking 7-10, and their cumulative shares reached 4.42%, 4.02%, 3.52% and 2.84% respectively. These are also the top 10 enterprises in the new energy dump truck industry that sold more than 100 vehicles this year.
