In May, domestic dump truck sales were 25,000 units, down 11.5% year-on-year and 8% month-on-month, ending the "13 consecutive increase" since April last year; from January to May, domestic dump trucks Accumulated sales of 122,000 vehicles, a cumulative increase of 42.9% year-on-year, was 27.6 percentage points lower than the increase in the previous April.


In May, the dump truck industry showed "negative growth" for the first time, down 11.5% year-on-year, ending the "13 consecutive rises" since April last year, and the market turning point has truly come.


Since April last year, the dump truck market has set a good “13 consecutive rise”. The data shows that from April 2020 to April 2021, the demand for the dump truck industry continued to be strong, with 13 monthly increases of 10%, 50%, 88%, 77%, 78%, 58%, 25%, and 38%. , 29%, 93%, 194%, 147%, 2%. Among them, in the first quarter of 2021, the three-month growth rate exceeded or was close to 100%, and the three-month growth basically doubled, and the demand was extremely strong.


However, by April 2021, the demand for dump trucks "slammed on the brakes", sales growth was only 2%, much lower than the previous three months, and the market demand was cooling; the dump truck industry was the first to appear in May. "Negative growth", down 11.5% year-on-year, ending the "13 consecutive growth."


Fangde.com analysis believes that from the high growth in the first quarter to the cooling in the second quarter, it is mainly affected by three factors: first, the first quarter of last year was affected by the new crown epidemic, and the sales base during the same period was too low; the second was affected by the switchover of national six vehicles . Since the national VI emission regulations for heavy trucks have been implemented on July 1 this year, OEMs and dealers have been fully distributing goods since January, and a large number of national five vehicles have been invoiced in advance in the first quarter; the third is affected by the "in-situ Chinese New Year" regulations. "Influenced by the policy, the traditional peak sales season of 2021 will move forward, and the market demand in the first quarter far exceeded expectations, resulting in a significant cooling of the market in the second quarter.


For the market in the next few months, Fangde.com believes that from June to September, the dump truck industry may continue to decline, and demand growth will slow down. There are also three reasons for this: First, the sales volume in the same period from June to September last year was relatively high, and the sales volume in the four single months was basically more than 20,000 vehicles, which made it difficult to exceed the demand in the same period this year; the second is that the demand has been overdrawn by a large amount in the next few months. In addition, many National V vehicles have not been digested, and many dealers will mainly sell National V vehicles that have already been invoiced in the next few months. Third, the newly-started infrastructure projects are not as expected, and the demand for car purchases is difficult to drive.


From the perspective of monthly sales, in May, five leading companies, namely Jiefang, Hongyan, Shaanxi Automobile, Heavy Duty Truck, and Liuzhou Automobile, dominated the top five domestic dump truck sales. Invoicing data shows that the sales of the five companies were 6,142, 5131, 4628, 2720, and 2592; Jiefang, Shaanxi Automobile, and Liuzhou Automobile achieved growth against the trend, increasing by 12.2%, 27.6%, and 27.5%, respectively, and maintained Strong growth momentum.


Liberation once again won the single-month championship. Invoicing data shows that in May, the Jiefang domestic dump truck sales volume was 6,142, an increase of 12.2% year-on-year; the market share was 24.2%, accounting for nearly 1/4 of the dump truck market share, an increase of 5.1 percentage points from the same period last year, ranking No. One. However, the single-month championship battle has intensified: From January to May, Hongyan and Jiefang bite very tightly. Hongyan has also won the dump truck single-month championship many times. The possibility of winning the championship is still higher, and the two kings competition is even more. As fierce.


From the perspective of market concentration, in May, the concentration of the domestic dump truck market increased again. Invoicing data shows that in May, the total sales of the top five companies of Jiefang, Hongyan, Shaanxi Automobile, Sinotruk, and Liuzhou Automobile reached 21,000 vehicles, with a total share of 83.6%, an increase of 1.6 percentage points over the same period last year. Market concentration strengthen. It can be seen that when the demand in the dump truck industry decreases, the chance of non-head companies getting orders becomes smaller.


According to invoicing data, the cumulative sales of domestic dump trucks from January to May was 122,000, a cumulative year-on-year increase of 42.9%, which was 27.6 percentage points lower than the previous April growth rate, and demand growth slowed down.


From the perspective of cumulative sales, from January to May, Hongyan, Jiefang, Shaanxi Automobile, China National Heavy Duty Truck, Liuzhou Automobile, five leading companies dominated the top five domestic dump truck sales, and the sales of the five companies were 26,000. With 26,000 vehicles, 24,000 vehicles, 1.6 vehicles, and 10,000 vehicles, Hongyan won the championship; increased by 34.3%, 48.2%, 106%, 24%, and 47.8%, respectively, and Shaanxi Automobile had the largest increase.


Hongyan is back at the top of the list. Invoicing data shows that from January to May, Hongyan actually sold 26,000 dump trucks in China, a year-on-year increase of 34.3%, and its market share reached 21.3%, which was basically the same as the same period last year. However, the cumulative sales of Jiefang and Hongyan are very close. The difference between the cumulative sales of the two in the first 5 months is less than 100, and the Jiefang has maintained a higher growth rate. The subsequent annual championship competition will be very fierce.


From the perspective of market concentration, the domestic dump truck market concentration has further increased in the first five months. Invoicing data shows that from January to May, the total sales of the top five companies of Hongyan, Jiefang, Shaanxi Automobile, Sinotruk, and Liuzhou Automobile reached 101,000 vehicles, with a total share of about 83.2%, an increase of 3.7% over the same period last year.
