In April 24, 2018, on the occasion of the Eleventh Paris international engineering machinery and Building Material Machinery Expo (INTERMAT 2018), China Engineering Machinery Industry Association, as the chairman of the conference, successfully organized the annual conference of the intercontinental Association (IAC Meeting) at the Villeurbanne Exhibition Center in Paris, Jiangsu Province. Vice president and Secretary General of Meng attended and presided over the meeting.
The intercontinental Association (IAC) is a voluntary organization composed of the World Association of engineering machinery manufacturing and retailer associations or committees. Members include the China Engineering Machinery Industry Association (CCMA), the European construction equipment commission (CECE), the American Manufacturers Association (AEM), and the Japanese construction equipment manufacturer association. CEMA, the India Building Equipment Manufacturers Association (ICEMA), the Korea Building Equipment Manufacturers Association (KOCEMA), etc., hold a meeting every year to promote the exchange of information between the various continents and the engineering machinery industry, and play a positive role in promoting the healthy and orderly development of the global engineering machinery industry. Member states are rotating as chairmen and secretaries of the conference.
China organized the intercontinental meeting in 2018 as the rotating president of China, in addition to the vice president of the China Engineering Machinery Industry Association Su Zi Meng, the vice president of the Al Cervero of the American Manufacturers Association, the president of the Arvind K Garg of the India Association of building equipment manufacturers, the Secretary of the Riccardo Viaggi of the European construction equipment committee, and the Japanese construction equipment manufacturer association Ki The executive general manager of WaMu Inoue, the Kyoung-moo Choi manager of the Korea building equipment manufacturer association, and the staff of the association and the committee attended the meeting of 19 people.

Vice President Su Zimeng introduced the overall development status of China's engineering machinery industry: after five years of low tide of industry development, China's construction machinery industry ushered in a new and rapid growth in 2017, the sales volume of major products increased by 45.7%, the export volume increased by 18.5%, and the economic benefits of the main enterprises were greatly improved: Business Revenue grew 22.2% year-on-year, and total profit grew by nearly 500%. The construction machinery industry has achieved double growth of output and benefit, and domestic and foreign markets have doubled growth, ushered in a new round of rapid development. Since 2018, the overall situation of the construction machinery has maintained a high growth. In March, the sales of the main products still continued to grow, and the sales and export volume of the main products in the first quarter were listed.
The European construction equipment committee said the recovery of the construction machinery industry began in 2016 and lasted until 2017. After the first quarter's strong growth (+21%), the second quarter growth slowdown (+4%), the third quarter and the fourth quarter growth (17% and 23%), European building equipment sales increased by 15% in 2017. The current sales level is comparable to that in 2006 and 2008, but it still has a 20% gap compared with the 2007 Figures at the peak of the industry. AlCervero, vice president of the American Manufacturers Association, introduces the current development of the construction machinery industry in the United States. He said that after the 4.5% growth in 2016, the total expenditure of the US construction industry increased by only 0.7% in 2017. The main reason for the increase in expenditure is the healthy growth of the residential market, rather than the expenditure on residential construction, while the expenditure on infrastructure construction has declined. As the expenditure on infrastructure construction is reversed, the growth of housing expenditure will intensify, so the growth rate in 2018 will continue. Construction spending in the United States is expected to grow at a steady rate in the next few years, then stabilize in 2020 and decline in 2021. Although the engineering machinery industry in the United States has faced both domestic (infrastructure spending) and global economic dynamics (US dollar strength) in recent years, the industry will continue to grow in the next five years.
The Japanese building equipment manufacturers association, the Korea building equipment manufacturer association and the India building equipment manufacturer association also exchanged the current status of the domestic engineering machinery industry and related policies and regulations.
