Over the past decade, China has made great efforts to strengthen, optimize and expand the manufacturing industry, and the comprehensive strength and international influence of the manufacturing industry have increased significantly. From 2012 to 2021, the industrial added value increased from 20.9 trillion yuan to 37.3 trillion yuan, with an average annual growth of 6.3%; The added value of the manufacturing industry increased from 16.98 trillion yuan to 31.4 trillion yuan, and its share in the world increased from about 20% to nearly 30%. Among the 500 major industrial products, the output of more than 40% of China's products ranks first in the world. The advantages of the complete industrial system have been further consolidated, with 41 major industrial categories, 207 medium industrial categories and 666 sub industrial categories.
Over the past decade, efforts have been made to improve the quality of the supply system and further optimize the industrial structure. The development of emerging industries has accelerated, with strong growth in service robots, intelligent wearable equipment and other products. The production and sales of new energy vehicles have ranked first in the world for seven consecutive years. The output value of the new material industry has doubled, the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries has accelerated, and the digitalization and green transformation has been comprehensively promoted. Intelligent manufacturing in some fields is at the international advanced level. The proportion of high-tech manufacturing and equipment manufacturing in the added value of industries above designated size has increased from 9.4% and 28% in 2012 to 15.1% and 32.4% in 2021, respectively. The regional layout has been continuously optimized, the leading role of key regions has been further enhanced, and a large number of advanced manufacturing clusters have been formed in the fields of electronic information and rail transit.
Over the past decade, we have made great efforts to implement the innovation driven development strategy, and taken innovation in key areas to a new level. Chang'e exploring the moon, Zhu Rong exploring the fire, Xihe chasing the sun, Beidou networking... A large number of major landmark innovative achievements have led China's manufacturing industry to a new height.
The strength of manufacturing enterprises has increased significantly
The core competitiveness of small, medium and micro enterprises has been significantly improved
Over the past decade, China has focused on cultivating high-quality enterprises, and the strength and competitiveness of manufacturing enterprises have been significantly enhanced. 73 industrial enterprises have been shortlisted in the world's top 500 enterprises, and the asset scale of Industrial Enterprises above designated size has doubled. More than 40000 "specialized, special and new" small and medium-sized enterprises, 4762 "small giant" enterprises and 848 single champion enterprises in manufacturing have been cultivated. The total R & D investment intensity of Industrial Enterprises above designated size has doubled, the proportion of new product sales revenue in business revenue has increased from 11.9% to 22.4%, and more than 570 industrial enterprises have been shortlisted as the top 2500 global R & D investment.
Xuxiaolan, Vice Minister of the Ministry of industry and information technology, said that in the past decade, China has made unprecedented efforts to promote the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, issued intensive policies and had a high gold content. The core competitiveness of China's small, medium and micro enterprises has been significantly improved, and their importance and contribution to national economic and social development have become increasingly prominent.
First, rapid growth. By the end of 2021, the number of enterprises nationwide had reached 48.42 million, an increase of 1.7 times, of which more than 99% were small and medium-sized enterprises. The number of small and medium-sized industrial enterprises above Designated Size in China reached 400000, with an operating income of more than 75trillion yuan and a total profit of 4.7 trillion yuan, an increase of 23.5%, 38.7% and 37.1% respectively over 2012.
Second, great contributions. According to the data of the fourth economic census, the number of employees of small and medium-sized enterprises accounted for 80% of the total number of employees of enterprises. In 2021, the total number of private individuals in China will reach 400million, an increase of more than 200million over 2012. Private enterprises, mainly small, medium and micro enterprises, are the largest foreign trade operators in China, contributing more than 58.2% to the growth of foreign trade in 2021.
Third, it is full of vitality. More than 60% of the "small giant" enterprises specialized in special new products belong to the industrial basic field, more than 70% have been deeply engaged in the industry for more than 10 years, more than 80% have entered the strategic emerging industry chain, and more than 90% are supporting experts of well-known large enterprises at home and abroad. The average R & D intensity of "little giant" enterprises reached 10.3%, 1.8 percentage points higher than that of listed enterprises.
Realizing iterative leaps in information and communication industry
Great progress has been made in the integration of new generation information technology and manufacturing industry
Over the past decade, China has made great efforts to improve the level of serving the economy and society, and the information and communication industry has achieved iterative leaps. Build the world's largest and technologically advanced network infrastructure, and realize the exponential growth of optical network access bandwidth from 10 to 100 megabytes and then to Gigabit. The mobile network has achieved a breakthrough from 3G, 4G synchronization and 5g. The historic realization of broadband access to all administrative villages throughout the country has made a positive contribution to the overall completion of the poverty alleviation goals and tasks.
In recent years, China has made great progress in the integration of new generation information technology and manufacturing industry. The foundation supporting integrated development has been continuously consolidated, and the level of integrated development has reached a new level.
First, we will further promote digital transformation. By the end of 2021, the numerical control rate of key processes in national industrial enterprises and the popularity of digital R & D and design tools had reached 51.3% and 74.7% respectively, 30.7 and 25.9 percentage points higher than that in 2012. Under the influence of new technologies and new applications, the production mode, enterprise form, business model and employment mode of China's manufacturing industry have accelerated reform, effectively promoting the development of manufacturing industry in terms of quality improvement, cost reduction, efficiency increase, green and safety.
Second, vigorously implement intelligent manufacturing engineering. 42 international standards and more than 300 national standards for intelligent manufacturing have been issued, and the coverage of national standards for basic commonalities and key technologies has reached 97.5%. More than 700 digital workshops and intelligent factories have been built. The production efficiency of the intelligent manufacturing pilot demonstration project has been increased by 48% on average, the product development cycle has been shortened by 38% on average, and the defective product rate has been reduced by 35% on average.
Third, carry out industrial Internet innovation and development. We accelerated the construction of three major systems: network, platform and security. Industrial Internet applications have covered 45 major categories of the national economy, and high-quality industrial Internet extranets have covered more than 300 cities across the country. More than 150 large-scale industrial Internet platforms have been cultivated, and more than 78million sets of industrial equipment have been connected.
Fourth, vigorously improve industrial support capacity. From 2012 to 2021, the scale of China's electronic information manufacturing industry increased from 10.7 trillion yuan to 14.1 trillion yuan, and the scale of the software industry increased from 2.5 trillion yuan to 9.5 trillion yuan.
