Japanese companies sigh: the world is disturbed by the epidemic, only the Chinese market can be trusted

Jun 05, 2020

"Japan Economic News" published a report entitled "Only the Chinese Market is Reliable" on June 3, saying that the Chinese economy has gradually recovered from the impact of the new crown epidemic, and many foreign companies realize that "the healthy development of enterprises cannot be separated from China. Sustainable economic development." Compile as follows:

Toyota Motor Corporation’s April production in China returned to positive growth compared with the same period last year. This is because Toyota has completed a full recovery earlier than its competitors and seized the special demand for private cars after the new crown epidemic. Now that the new crown epidemic has spread to the world, the management of Toyota's China office believes that "only the world's largest Chinese market can be trusted."

Zeng Qinghong, chairman of GAC Group, a Chinese state-owned auto company that cooperates with Toyota, said confidence in the long-term development of the Chinese auto industry will not be affected.

On May 27, a total of about 140 employees of Nissan and other companies took a charter flight from Kansai International Airport in Japan to Wuhan City, Hubei Province, which was the epicenter of the new epidemic. These people will work to expand the production and sales of cars locally.

Chinese companies also responded to the instructions of the highest leadership to resume domestic production as soon as possible, and extended a welcome hand to foreign companies.

Malaysian company Jiasheng Semiconductor (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. used the assault project to achieve power expansion in less than three weeks, and the production equipment was put into operation on April 5. The company's general manager Li Caoquan finally breathed a sigh of relief: "The headquarters will urgently transfer part of the production capacity of the Malaysian factory to the Suzhou factory without any delay."

Due to the spread of the new crown epidemic, the Malaysian government took measures to "close the city" on March 18. Jiasheng also stopped production at its Malaysian plant. Li Caoquan received an order from the headquarters to transfer part of the production capacity to the Suzhou plant, and the deadline was set on April 5. If the action is slow, the company will have problems with the supply of products to large Chinese communications companies. If you lose a big customer in China, Jiasheng's revenue base will be greatly affected.

However, Li Caoquan realized that to increase the capacity of the Suzhou plant, the power capacity was far from keeping up, so he immediately turned to the State Grid Corporation Suzhou Industrial Park Power Supply Company for help. The power supply company has set up a special task force for "guaranteed supply warfare", and also worked overtime to increase power capacity during the Qingming holiday in early April, helping Jiasheng Company achieve capacity transfer.

After the New Crown crisis, Japan and the United States are taking measures to adjust the supply chain that previously relied on China. However, throughout the world, only China is showing signs of economic recovery. The chairman and CEO of Canon (China) Co., Ltd. Hideki Ozawa pointed out: "The healthy development of an enterprise is inseparable from the sustainable development of the Chinese economy." It is difficult for enterprises to implement the strategy of leaving China.
