Loader daily maintenance method

Jan 21, 2026

Loaders require maintenance, ideally daily. Daily cleaning and maintenance are essential for optimal loader performance. Let's look at how to perform daily maintenance:

1. Winter operation is relatively difficult. It's recommended that each start attempt not exceed 8 seconds. If it fails to start, release the start switch and wait one minute before attempting another. After starting the engine, let it idle for a short time (not too long, as this can cause carbon buildup on the cylinder walls and lead to cylinder scoring). This charges the battery and allows the coolant temperature to reach 55℃ and the pressure gauge to reach 0.4 MPa before driving.

2. When the air temperature is below 5℃, preheat the engine with hot water or steam until it reaches 30-40℃ or higher (this preheats the cylinders and consequently the diesel fuel, as diesel engines are generally compression-ignition).

Full-load operation is only permitted when the diesel engine coolant temperature is above 55℃ and the engine oil temperature is above 45℃. During operation, the engine coolant and oil temperatures should not exceed 95℃, and the torque converter oil temperature should not exceed 110℃.

4. When the air temperature is below 0℃, after each day's work, drain the coolant from the water tank lower chamber, engine, oil cooler, and torque converter oil cooler to prevent freezing and cracking. Vapor in the air reservoir should be frequently drained to prevent freezing and brake failure. If antifreeze has been added, draining is not necessary.

5. For vehicles stored and not used for more than half a month, the engine must be started and run for a period of time every 15 days to charge the battery. If the storage time is too long, the battery should be removed and charged using a charger (the same applies to vehicles awaiting sale at dealerships). At the same time, move the vehicle appropriately to change the pressure points of the tires to prevent tire deformation. If the vehicle is to be parked for more than two months, the negative terminal of the battery must be disconnected or removed.

6. The usage of fuel oil, lubricating oil, coolant, and auxiliary materials for diesel engines is as follows: Use -10# light diesel oil for the diesel engine; in cold regions, use -35# light diesel oil. Use CD grade engine oil.

7. When the temperature is below 0℃, the antifreeze concentration should be checked regularly, and untreated water must not be used as engine coolant.
