Terex MP (Material Handling Division) has acquired MDS International. MDS is a manufacturer of heavy and recycled roller screens, apron feeders and conveyor systems based in Ireland.
According to Terex MP, the acquisition supports its growth strategy by expanding its products in the crushing, screening and environmental protection industries to complement its existing product portfolio. MDS's trommel is a heavy-duty trommel that can be extended to areas not currently served by Terex MP.
According to Terex MP, the acquisition brings "strong commercial synergy" because several Terex MP dealers are already operating the MDS product line.
MDS’s 34,000-square-foot factory will be Terex’s first factory in the Republic of Ireland. The establishment of this factory will expand Terex’s footprint and provide new labor resources.
The plant is only a short drive from Terex’s Dungannon and Omagh plants in Northern Ireland, and provides easy access to Terex MP’s Northern Ireland team and close coordination with the resources of these facilities.
MDS will maintain independent brands with Powerscreen, Terex Finlay and EvoQuip's crushing and screening businesses under Terex MP.
