Bauma 2022:mic 4.0, open up smart construction

Jul 11, 2022

If we want to realize the automation of some mechanical equipment in the complex construction machinery construction site, we need to solve the problem of real-time data transmission between these equipment. To this end, experts in the construction machinery industry will discuss the solution to the problem of data interoperability with on-site guests at the seminar of Bauma 2022 exhibition. At that time, smart construction and data exchange will become a hot topic.

Recently, Bauma officially held a demonstration on intelligent construction and networked data computing, which focused on the key role of equipment digitization in efficient construction practice - through real-time monitoring of equipment status data, predictive maintenance, seamless material connection and transportation, and other more application scenarios can be achieved to ensure the intelligence and safety of construction.

Alexander Mozer, head of the mechanical digitalization team of a large German construction company, said at the presentation: "In terms of carbon dioxide emission monitoring, remote information monitoring can provide us with the fuel consumption information of each equipment. At the same time, accurate positioning information can help us reduce the query time of equipment operation cycle, and the monitoring platform can automatically calculate the working hours of equipment, which provides an important reference basis for us to maintain equipment and calculate construction costs."

However, because the equipment interfaces used by different manufacturers are inconsistent, and the intervals and algorithms of monitoring data are also different, the statistics of monitoring data from different manufacturers are extremely complex. We also hope that different manufacturers can break through the interface barrier as soon as possible.

Mic 4.0: lay the data and information foundation for "intelligent construction"

In order to realize partial automation in more complex construction machinery construction sites, the German Federation of machinery and equipment manufacturers (VDMA) and the German construction industry association (HDB) set up a working group "mic 4.0" at Bauma 2019 exhibition. The relevant person in charge said, "our original intention is to develop a unified, cross manufacturer and independent standardized data information system for the whole construction. At present, 105 members from seven countries have participated in this research and development, and we will continue to work for this."

Mic 4.0: a new data integration and governance solution platform

Construction machinery is becoming more and more intelligent, and the supporting digital operating system is also constantly upgrading and improving. Liebherr engineer said, "in order to make the construction site operate and manage in a more digital, intelligent and autonomous way, MIC 4.0 working group has been developing an open data interface, and has conducted effective tests on excavator equipment in April 2022."

At that time, the achievements of MIC 4.0 working group in the past three years will be displayed to professional audiences in the "lab0 innovation hall" of the "science center" booth of Bauma 2022 exhibition. In addition to the relevant graphic materials, there will also be a live dynamic demonstration. In addition, VDMA will officially release the interface protocol after Bauma 2022 exhibition.

It is understood that the themes of the next webinar of Bauma 2022 are "sustainable mining technology" and "zero emission road of construction machinery". You can follow Bauma 2022 official website for more information.
