By industry, in May, the operating rates of truck cranes, excavators and pump trucks ranked among the top three, with 80.16%, 70.12% and 65.06% respectively; Pump trucks, on-board pumps, towing pumps, mixing trucks, mixing stations, truck cranes, pavers, rollers, the operating rate and average operating volume were stable and positive compared with April. The change in the operating rate reflects, to a certain extent, the trend that China's construction machinery industry market has come out of the trough in the first half of this year and the situation is becoming clearer and clearer.
Domestic sales fell and exports grew steadily
Affected by the uncertainty of the epidemic and the internal and external environment, in the first five months of this year, the domestic market sales of most subdivisions of China's construction machinery decreased. At the same time, the product export market still maintained a good growth momentum, with the exception of individual categories, all achieved growth.

According to the statistics of 11 bulldozer manufacturers by China Construction Machinery Industry Association (hereinafter referred to as the Association), 518 bulldozers of various types were sold in May 2022, a year-on-year decrease of 15.4%; Among them, 203 sets were domestic, with a year-on-year decrease of 41.7%; 315 sets were exported, with a year-on-year increase of 19.3%. From January to may, 2836 bulldozers were sold, a year-on-year decrease of 20.8%; Among them, there were 1231 sets in China, with a year-on-year decrease of 50.9%; 1605 sets were exported, with a year-on-year increase of 49.9%.

According to the statistics of the association on 10 motor grader manufacturers, 671 motor graders of various types were sold in May 2022, with a year-on-year increase of 20.3%; Among them, 94 sets were domestic, with a year-on-year decrease of 37.3%; 577 sets were exported, with a year-on-year increase of 41.4%. After half a year, 20 brand-new XCMG 1000 ton crawler cranes were off-line for commissioning and went to Xinjiang again to build a world-renowned super wind power base.
In the first five months, the overall sales revenue of Liugong's overseas accessories increased by about 84% year-on-year, and the annual target completion rate exceeded 50%. Domestic infrastructure is gradually developing, and the prospect of the industry is still promising
At present, nearly 70% of the new special bonds issued this year have been invested in the field of infrastructure, which has begun to reflect the effect, and major engineering projects across the country have begun to move forward slowly. Among them, infrastructure construction started on schedule, achieving a growth rate of more than 7% in May, and the monthly decline of real estate narrowed; In the first five months, the cumulative issuance of special bonds was about 1.85 trillion yuan, an increase of 1.36 trillion yuan over the same period last year.
With the accelerated release of special debt, significant capital construction efforts, major projects have been started, and the decline of construction machinery represented by excavators will be significantly narrowed in the third quarter.
In the face of the sharp decline in domestic sales in the first half of the year, the industry is trying to recover. Take Shanghai as an example. Since May 16, Shanghai's engineering construction has accelerated, with obvious signs of recovery. Under the influence of the epidemic, in April, the import and export of Shanghai and the construction of major projects were greatly restricted, resulting in the average workload of the front crane and stacker being the lowest in the past three years.
Compared with April, the average workload of the front crane in Shanghai in May increased by 43.6%, the stacker increased by 26.6%, the concrete mixing plant increased by 295.5% and the mixer truck increased by 73.3% month on month. The operating rate of all kinds of machinery increased steadily, showing an accelerated recovery momentum.
Driven by policies and measures such as stabilizing the economy, ensuring growth and promoting development, various projects in Inner Mongolia are in full swing. In May, the average operation volume of five types of equipment in Inner Mongolia increased year-on-year and led the country, respectively 92.5% for Drag Pumps (the first in the country), 46% for front cranes (the second in the country), 15% for truck cranes (the first in the country), 9.5% for excavators (the second in the country), and 3.5% for piling equipment (the first in the country).
At the same time, in May, the second batch of 886 major projects in Ningxia this year pressed the "start button", and infrastructure construction accelerated. In that month, the average operation volume of crawler cranes and rollers in Ningxia ranked first in the country.
