Development of large crawler cranes in the world -- Germany

Jun 20, 2018

Germany has deep historical accumulation and strong R & D strength in the field of construction machinery, and has created extremely brilliant achievements. The German Gottald (GOTTWALD) company founded in 1906 is known as the immortal legend of crane industry. After two world wars, it survived miraculously in the artillery fire of allied forces. During the heyday of the 80s of last century, a series of large tonnage cranes made could be regarded as a miracle in the history of construction machinery in the world. KRUPP, a German military giant, converted to civil engineering machinery after World War II, actively participated in German reconstruction, and reemerged in the field of engineering machinery, and the production machinery was sold all over the world. German Demag (DEMAG), a German company under the banner of German Mann group, is an old European engineering machinery enterprise. It has a history of nearly 200 years, and is renowned for its unparalleled quality. It can be said jokingly that when the DEMAG crane ran across the street, Hans, founder of Liebherr group, Liebherr was still in the cradle.

However, in recent years, the German brand of several famous cranes who have worked hard for hundreds of years has gone all the way. After the acquisition of GOTTWALD by KRUPP in 1985, the crane business became more powerful. GOTTWALD's crane business was bought by DEMAG. But just ten years later, KRUPP's crane business was bought by Grof, GROVE. Grove was acquired by the United States in 2002. In 2000, the man's Mann group restructured to sell Demag (DEMAG) crane business to SIEMENS group. In May 2002, SIEMENS sold Demag (DEMAG) to the American tyre group. The only surviving Liebherr, if it comes from taxation, is a Swiss enterprise.

The German Liebherr group is one of the world's leading heavy machinery manufacturers, founded in 1949 by Hans Liberger in the southern German town of Kisch Dov (Kirchdorf). At present, the group has about 32600 employees. It has more than 100 subsidiaries and 35 production bases worldwide, with a revenue of 8 billion 400 million euro in 2008. The group's parent company is Liebherr International Limited, located in Bulle, Switzerland. All the managers are members of the Liebherr family. As early as 1978, Liebherr set up an office in Beijing to open up the Chinese market.

The crane is one of the core businesses of Liebherr. In 2008, Liebherr delivered 1744 cranes with sales of 1 billion 903 million euros. Liebherr is located in the factory of Ehingen, Germany, to provide users with 350-1200 tons of full road cranes and 104-1350 tons of LR series crawler cranes. The product features include full hydraulic drive, electro-hydraulic proportional control, large tonnage crawler crane installation, and global positioning system. The LR 11350 crawler crane launched by Liebherr in 2005 has a maximum lifting capacity of 1350 tons, a working radius of 12 meters, and a maximum load torque of 22748 tons. The main arm is 30-150 meters long and the arm is 36-114 meters long. First, second of the products were sold to Chinese consumers at a price of 170 million yuan. In June 2006, CNPC built a 1206 ton heavy hydrogenation reactor successfully in Dalian petrochemical company.
