At present, domestic and foreign earth-moving machinery manufacturing enterprises have gradually implemented sustainable development strategies, but there is still a lack of systematic sustainable development standards research in the design, manufacturing, and recycling stages of the product's full life cycle, and a complete earth-moving machinery has not yet been built. The continuous development of the standard system limits the sustainable and healthy development of the earth-moving machinery industry.

We must uphold the development concept of innovation, coordination, greenness, openness, and sharing. In 2020, the National Earthmoving Machinery Standardization Technical Committee (hereinafter referred to as the Standardization Committee) submitted a proposal report for the establishment of ISO/TC127/SC5 "Sustainable Development Subcommittee" to the International Organization for Standardization ISO/TC l27 "Earthmoving Machinery Technical Committee". Today, the establishment of the branch is not only a guide and assistance for the sustainable future development of earth-moving machinery in China and the world, but also reflects China's responsibility and practice when facing global sustainable development issues as a major manufacturing country.
Ramming the foundation! China's standards for development
Research by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development has shown that standards and product conformity assessment affect 80% of global investment and trade, and technical standards can promote economic globalization and investment facilitation. It can be said that standards are the technical basis for economic and social activities and play an irreplaceable role in reducing trade costs, promoting technological innovation, and enhancing communication and mutual trust. For a long time, most of the global manufacturing standards formulation and revision work, including earth-moving machinery, has been in the follow-up stage in my country.
In 2017, the Standards Committee drafted two international standards ISO 10987-2: "Earth-moving machinery sustainability Part 2: Remanufacturing" and ISO 10987-3: "Earth-moving machinery sustainability Part 3: Second-hand machinery" Officially published and distributed, it has established an internationally accepted, scientific and reasonable, operability and economical technical specification in the earth-moving machinery remanufacturing and second-hand machinery industry. It is foreseeable that in the future, the branch will further promote the sustainable development of earth-moving machinery standards. It will continue to build a communication platform through technical standards, and by intervening in international standard formulation and revision activities as soon as possible, grasp the right to speak in international standards, and go out with technical standards. Promote the overseas promotion and application of Chinese equipment, Chinese brands, Chinese technologies, and Chinese services. This will become an important model to consolidate the foundation and promote the sustainable and high-quality development of my country's equipment manufacturing industry.

The secretariat of the branch is undertaken by Jiangsu Xugong Construction Machinery Research Institute Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Xugong Research Institute), and the China Machinery Industry Federation is responsible for daily management and business guidance.
As a leading construction machinery company in my country, XCMG has always attached great importance to standardization work, convening and participating in the formulation of 6 international standards, presided over and participated in the formulation of more than 200 national and industry standards, and the standard system covers more than 13,000 standards at all levels. XCMG Research Institute has carried out in-depth research on green design, green manufacturing, remanufacturing, reuse, recycling, and full life cycle assessment. It presided over and participated in the formulation of 47 national standards for earth-moving machinery and 19 industrial standards, which promoted earthmoving.
