John Deere 210G LC Mid-Size Excavator Combines Powerwise III Hydraulic Balance with Rugged Undercarriage Design for Heavy-Duty Production

Oct 19, 2026

John Deere continues to position the 210G LC as the anchor of its mid-size G-Series excavator lineup - a roughly 23,000-kg operating-weight crawler excavator rated at 119 kW (159 hp) net power, paired with maximum digging depth of 6.68 meters (21 feet, 11 inches), arm digging force of 114 kN (25,543 lb), and bucket digging force of 156 kN (35,138 lb). The 210G LC is built on a John Deere PowerTech diesel engine using cooled exhaust gas recirculation for NOx reduction and a diesel particulate filter / diesel oxidation catalyst to reduce particulate matter, allowing operators to work in non-attainment areas and Tier 4 regulated markets without the interruptions associated with external DPF cleaning.

The machine's defining engineering feature is "Powerwise III" - John Deere's hydraulic management system that perfectly balances engine performance and hydraulic flow for predictable operation across a range of work applications. Combined with three selectable productivity modes - High Productivity for maximum power and faster hydraulic response when moving more material, Power for a balanced power/speed/fuel-consumption profile, and Economy for reduced fuel burn during light-duty work - the 210G LC lets operators match machine performance to the specific demands of stockpiling overburden, excavating basements, loading trucks, or placing pipe. Two factory-installed high-pressure, high-flow auxiliary packages enable attachment versatility, with hydraulic flow changes available at the push of a button directly from the seat.

The 210G LC's structural design emphasizes long-term durability in demanding applications. A "double-seal swing bearing" delivers rock-solid durability at the machine's rotating joint, extending swing-bearing life in dusty and abrasive job-site environments where a single-seal swing bearing would be prone to premature wear. The "mainframe single-sheet undercover" is thickened for added strength, and an optional "track-frame undercover" keeps debris from accumulating around the undercarriage's roller and idler assemblies - extending undercarriage wear life in applications where excavation debris would otherwise pack into the track frame and accelerate roller wear. Combined with a redesigned G-Series cab with larger entryway, extra legroom, silicone-filled mounts isolating operators from noise and vibration, large fuel tank, and 500- and 5,000-hour engine and hydraulic oil-service intervals that reduce downtime relative to competing machines, the 210G LC positions itself as a direct competitor to the Komatsu PC210, Caterpillar 320, Hitachi ZX210, and Volvo EC220E in the global 22-ton excavator segment.
