The reporter learned from the Ministry of industry and information technology that in 2021, the added value of China's manufacturing industry reached 31.4 trillion yuan, accounting for 27.4% of GDP. Since 2010, the added value of China's manufacturing industry has ranked first in the world for 12 consecutive years.
Since the 18th CPC National Congress, China's status as a major manufacturing country has been further consolidated. From 2012 to 2021, China's industrial added value increased from 20.9 trillion yuan to 37.3 trillion yuan, of which the manufacturing added value increased from 16.98 trillion yuan to 31.4 trillion yuan.
——The international competitiveness of the manufacturing industry has been significantly enhanced. China is the only country in the world that has all the industrial categories listed in the United Nations Industrial Classification. The output of more than 220 kinds of industrial products ranks first in the world. In 2021, the added value of China's industries above designated size increased by 9.6%, 6.8 percentage points higher than that in 2020, with an average growth of 6.1% in two years.
——The innovation ability of manufacturing industry has been significantly improved. The international competitive advantages of photovoltaic, wind power, shipbuilding and other industrial chains were further enhanced, with the output of containers increasing by 110.6% and the output of chips increasing by 33.3% year-on-year. Phased achievements have been made in tackling key problems in the fields of new displays, industrial machines and new materials.
——The upgrading of manufacturing industrial structure was accelerated. The added value of high-tech manufacturing and equipment manufacturing increased by 18.2% and 12.9% respectively, and the contribution rate to the growth of above designated industries reached 28.6% and 45% respectively. The energy consumption per unit of added value of industries above designated size decreased by 5.6% year-on-year.
——The digital transformation of manufacturing industry has been accelerated in an all-round way. China has built the world's largest optical fiber and mobile communication network, built and opened more than 1425000 5g base stations, and 520 million 5g mobile terminal connections. The pace of digitalization and green transformation of the manufacturing industry has been accelerated. The NC rate of key processes in key areas has reached 55.3%, and the popularity of digital R & D and design tools has reached 74.7%, providing a strong driving force for the sustained and healthy development of economy and society.
