How To Operate A Loader Correctly

Jan 06, 2026

Precautions for Loader Operators:

I. A qualified loader operator must have a thorough understanding of its control levers, operation, engine and hydraulic pump operation, and various driving conditions and preparations.

II. Key Points: Pre-driving requirements, driving requirements and precautions on various complex road surfaces.

1. Before using and operating the loader, operators must be familiar with all relevant technical documents and materials for that model, understand the machine's performance and structural characteristics, and master the position and function of each control lever or handle and various instruments to use the machine rationally and extend its service life.

2. Perform pre-driving preparations, checking that all components are functioning properly, instruments, lubrication, starting, braking, and cooling meet technical requirements, and that tire pressure, oil levels, and control levers are flexible.

3. The fuel used must be clean and have been allowed to settle for at least 48 hours. The fuel grade should meet the specified quality requirements. The hydraulic system oil and the transmission/torque converter oil must meet requirements; the transmission/torque converter should use No. 22 turbine oil.

4. Perform maintenance and lubrication as required, and be familiar with the location of each lubrication point. After starting the engine, allow it to idle until the water temperature reaches 55℃ and the air pressure rises before starting to drive. When driving on mountain slopes, prevent the engine from stalling. Do not allow the engine to stall while driving downhill, otherwise the hydraulic steering will malfunction, causing an accident. Avoid carrying loads downhill as much as possible. If unavoidable during transport, reverse slowly.

5. Use two-wheel drive for high-speed driving and four-wheel drive for low-speed loading. To improve engine power utilization at high speeds, the torque converter clutch control valve oil circuit can be connected, making the torque converter, pump wheel, and turbine a rigid connection to reduce power loss and achieve high-speed driving.

6. Changing the direction of travel, shifting high/low gears, or using the drive axle lever must be done after stopping the machine (the ZL50 loader can freely change gears and directions while driving). During loader operation, the engine water temperature and torque converter oil temperature must not exceed the specified values. If the oil temperature exceeds the allowable value due to loading operations, stop the machine to allow cooling. 7. It is not permitted to raise the loader bucket to its highest position for loading and unloading. When transporting goods, the bucket should be tilted and raised to a height of approximately 400mm before driving.
