Due to the impact of the new crown epidemic, the Bauma Conexpo India, originally scheduled to be held in Gurugram, India from November 3 to 6, 2020, has been postponed to February 23 to 26, 2021 .
The organizer of the exhibition, Messe Munich, commented in a press release that considering the escalating epidemic and the Indian government's restrictions on domestic and international travel, rescheduling the trade fair is a strategic decision.
Mr. Bhupinder Singh, CEO of bC Expo India Pvt. Ltd. said: "After a comprehensive market assessment and consultation with our key stakeholders, we decided to postpone bauma Conexpo India, which is in the best interests of exhibitors and visitors. ."
As of the writing of this report, India has confirmed more than 1.48 million confirmed cases of the new crown epidemic, of which more than 33,400 people have died of the disease. The total number of cases increased significantly in July, and there is concern that this trend will continue.
Due to the COVID-19 crisis and economic weakness since 2019, India’s construction industry growth rate is expected to shrink by 7.5% in 2020.
The decision to postpone the exhibition was supported by Mr. Arvind K. Garg of Larsen & Toubro and the Chairman of Bauma Conexpo India. He said: “We are in an unprecedented situation, which has severely affected our industry. The decision to reschedule bauma Conexpo India is based on feedback we have received from important stakeholders (exhibitors and customers).”
