Import and export figures for the internal combustion engine industry from January to November 2025

According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs, my country's total import and export value reached US$5,753.62 billion in the first 11 months of 2025, an increase of 2.9%. Exports totaled US$3,414.73 billion, up 5.4%; imports totaled US$2,338.88 billion, down 0.6%; and the trade surplus was US$1,075.85 billion, indicating that foreign trade continued its steady growth trend.

Lu Daliang, Director of the Statistics and Analysis Department of the General Administration of Customs, stated, "As of November, my country's goods trade imports and exports have maintained year-on-year growth for 10 consecutive months. Both exports and imports grew in November, showing both year-on-year and month-on-month growth, demonstrating the continued resilience and vitality of my country's foreign trade."

Specifically, in the internal combustion engine industry, the total import and export value in the first eleven months showed year-on-year growth, with imports showing a slight year-on-year increase and exports increasing year-on-year, with the growth rate consistently above 10%.

According to data compiled by the General Administration of Customs, the total import and export value of the internal combustion engine industry from January to November 2025 reached US$35.229 billion, a year-on-year increase of 8.89%. Imports totaled US$9.56 billion, a year-on-year increase of 2.90%, while exports reached US$25.669 billion, a year-on-year increase of 11.31%. The trade surplus was US$16.109 billion.

I. In terms of import value, diesel engines, other types of internal combustion engines, and generator sets saw year-on-year growth, while all other categories declined, with gasoline engines experiencing the largest decrease. Specifically:

Diesel engine imports reached US$1.659 billion, a year-on-year increase of 18.55%;

Gasoline engine imports reached US$323 million, a year-on-year decrease of 29.53%;

Other types of complete engines imported reached US$2.155 billion, a year-on-year increase of 8.59%;

Internal combustion engine parts imports reached US$4.582 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 2.78%;

Generator set imports reached US$840 million, a year-on-year increase of 14.47%.

II. In terms of export value, diesel engines and gasoline engines saw year-on-year decreases, while all other sub-categories saw year-on-year growth. Specifically:

Diesel engine exports reached US$1.185 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 2.84%;

Gasoline engine exports reached US$1.906 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 0.44%;

Other types of complete engine exports reached US$3.1 billion, a year-on-year increase of 30.88%;

Internal combustion engine parts exports reached US$13.436 billion, a year-on-year increase of 5.59%;

Generator set exports reached US$6.042 billion, a year-on-year increase of 24.98%.
