During the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025), the construction machinery industry maintained stable development, with a significant increase in foreign trade exports. Business operations covered over 170 countries and regions, and products were exported to more than 210 countries and regions. China's share of the international construction machinery market increased rapidly, and its global layout was further advanced. China's annual export value of construction machinery increased from US$20.9 billion in 2020 to nearly US$52.9 billion in 2024, and is expected to reach or exceed US$59 billion in 2025, continuously surpassing the US$30 billion, US$40 billion, and US$50 billion marks, showing a strong upward trend.
Scaling new heights, high-end equipment continues to meet construction needs. 4000-ton cranes, ultra-large hydraulic excavators, 10,000-ton-meter tower cranes, super-large tunnel boring machines, high-horsepower bulldozers, large pure electric mining dump trucks, large aerial work platforms... a number of intelligent, high-end, and major technological equipment have achieved breakthroughs, playing an irreplaceable role in major domestic and international engineering projects.
Riding the wave of digitalization, new breakthroughs have been made in digital and intelligent development. Based on the deepened application of 5G, big data, and artificial intelligence, the industry's digital and intelligent upgrading is evolving towards systemic intelligent solutions such as machine cluster collaborative operation, exhibiting characteristics of active technological innovation, rich application scenarios, a complete industrial ecosystem, and significantly improved construction efficiency.
A relevant official from the China Machinery Industry Federation stated that looking ahead to the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030), the Chinese construction machinery industry is expected to maintain both quantitative and qualitative growth.
