In October, the sales volume of China's heavy truck market fell by 6% year on year. Will the market achieve year-on-year growth in the fourth quarter?
The sales volume in October decreased by 3% month on month
In October of this year, China's heavy truck market sold about 50000 vehicles (invoicing caliber, including exports and new energy), a decrease of 3% month on month (MoM) compared with September of this year, a decrease of 6% compared with 53500 vehicles in the same period of last year, and a net decrease of about 3500 vehicles.
With regard to the sluggish market demand and the lower than expected sales volume of heavy trucks, the main reasons are the economic slowdown, large areas of silence and control, poor passenger flow, business flow and logistics, low investment and consumption, low supply of goods, and insufficient user confidence.
Jiefang/Futian/JAC rose against the trend
In the market "qualifying race" in October this year, CNHTC led with 15000 vehicles; The three mainstream enterprises that rose against the trend were FAW Jiefang, Foton Motor and JAC Heavy Truck, and Foton Motor achieved four consecutive monthly sales increases year on year; XCMG Heavy Truck ranks sixth in the industry.
Specifically, among the first echelon of heavy trucks, FAW Jiefang sold about 9000 heavy trucks in October this year, a year-on-year growth of 12% against the trend; From January to October 2022, the cumulative sales volume of Jiefang Heavy Truck will be about 108100, with a market share of 18.9%.
CNHTC sold about 15000 heavy trucks in October this year, and its cumulative sales from January to October was about 140700, with the market share rising to 24.5%, up 4.5 percentage points year on year.
Dongfeng Company (including Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle, Dongfeng Liuqi Chenglong, etc.) sold nearly 8000 heavy trucks in October this year; From January to October this year, Dongfeng Company sold 103,300 heavy trucks of all kinds, accounting for about 18% of the market. The cumulative sales volume is still ranked the third in the industry.
Shaanxi Automobile Group sold about 8000 heavy trucks in October, and has sold about 90800 heavy trucks since the beginning of the year, with a market share of 15.9%, up 2 percentage points year on year. The sales of Foton Motor in recent months have been very eye-catching. It has been growing against the trend for four consecutive months and rising sharply for three consecutive months. In October, it delivered a "report card" with sales of about 5000 vehicles and a 63% year-on-year growth against the trend. The growth rate is the highest among mainstream enterprises; Its cumulative sales from January to October was about 59700 vehicles, with a market share of about 10.4%, up 2.7 percentage points.
SAIC Hongyan sold about 600 heavy trucks in October this year, and about 11500 heavy trucks from January to October 2022, with a market share of about 2.0%, temporarily ranking seventh in the industry. In October, Dayun Heavy Truck sold 803 vehicles, and from January to October, it sold 15400 vehicles, ranking sixth in the industry. Its market share from January to October was 2.7%, up 0.7 percentage points.
Due to the downturn of the industry in the first and second half of the year, the annual sales volume of heavy trucks in 2022 is expected to be about 680000, down about 51% year on year. Recently, the epidemic situation spread rapidly throughout the country, many places have implemented a large area of "silence", and consumption and investment continue to be at a low ebb. Heavy trucks are the means of production and means of transportation. If both the supplier and the owner, as the "upstream" of the upstream transportation industry, are unable to provide a relatively rich supply of goods, the end customer will not have new demand for vehicle purchase and replacement. May the epidemic end as soon as possible and look forward to the rebirth of the heavy truck market!
