What Are Some Common Malfunctions Of Loaders?

Mar 04, 2026

A loader is a widely used earthmoving machine in construction projects such as highways, railways, buildings, hydropower, ports, and mines. It is mainly used for loading and unloading bulk materials such as soil, sand, gravel, lime, and coal, and can also perform light digging operations on ores and hard soil. So, what are some common loader malfunctions? Here's a brief introduction:

1. Worn multi-way valve: The clearance between the valve stem and valve body exceeds the specified value, resulting in insufficient boom lifting force or insufficient bucket turning force.

2. Reduced or unstable performance of the loader's hydraulic braking system: Main causes include deteriorated working oil; foreign objects entering or blocking the pipeline; clogged or damaged oil filter; and air in the system.

3. Loader boom sinks on its own after being raised: This is caused by internal leakage in the boom cylinder; excessive valve stem clearance in the multi-way valve can also cause the boom to sink on its own after being raised.

4. Excessive oil immersion in the loader. There are two main reasons for this: one is prolonged heavy-load operation; the other is insufficient oil level, leading to excessively high oil temperature.

5. The loader continues to turn after the steering wheel has been returned to its original position, which is a relatively dangerous malfunction. The main reasons are: firstly, damage to the four-position spring in the steering gear, causing the steering to continue after the steering wheel has been returned to its original position; secondly, jamming between the oil distribution sleeve and the oil distribution shaft, or problems with the oil distribution.
