Loader Safety Operation Procedures

Mar 03, 2026

Safety is paramount. This article outlines the safe operation procedures for loaders from a reputable company. We should all take heed of these procedures when using loaders ourselves, prioritizing safety above all else!

1. All employees in this department must undergo three levels of pre-job safety and fire prevention training (Quality and Technology Department, Cement Division, and Workshop) and pass the examination before being allowed to work.

2. Loader operators must undergo professional operation training, be familiar with the structure, performance, and working principles of the loader, and pass the examination to obtain a license before operating the loader.

3. When vehicles are traveling within the factory area, the maximum speed must not exceed 10 kilometers per hour; speeding and aggressive driving are prohibited; other vehicles must be given priority and allowed to pass safely.

4. While the vehicle is in operation, no one is allowed to ride in any part of the cab except between the boom and the front frame of a small loader, including the bucket, hood, or any other part.

5. Working under the influence of alcohol or allowing someone other than the driver to operate the vehicle is strictly prohibited.

6. When operating a vehicle, drivers must pay attention to the safety of other personnel and equipment at the work site. Before moving forward or backward, drivers must always look around for any passing vehicles or pedestrians and maintain a safe distance from the vehicles being loaded or unloaded.

7. Drivers must coordinate well with the material handlers at their respective posts. Before loading, drivers must sound the horn and check the grate to ensure no one is on it before loading.

8. All drivers must maintain a constant awareness of safety. Drivers have the right to refuse to perform any work task if there are unsafe factors and must report the issue to their superiors.

9. When using the vehicle, drivers must carefully check the oil levels, coolant levels, and the condition of all mechanical connections; regularly check and tighten all bolts and nuts; prevent premature wear and damage to the vehicle; and address potential accidents at an early stage.

10. When the loader is moving, the bucket should be kept in the transport position, with the bottom of the bucket approximately 400mm from the ground. Avoid sudden acceleration, sharp turns, sudden braking, and zigzag driving to ensure stable operation of the loader.

11. When the loader is going downhill, it is strictly forbidden to coast in neutral with the engine off. Otherwise, it will cause hydraulic steering failure and result in a serious traffic accident.

12. When loading and unloading materials, it is strictly forbidden to transport materials when the material is tilted to one side or when the bucket is raised to a high position, to ensure stability and safe operation of the loader.

13. Before the loader picks up the cargo, the front and rear of the vehicle should be in a straight line, aligned and close to the cargo pile, with the bucket parallel to the ground, and then the cargo should be picked up.

14. When picking up cargo, select the appropriate gear and speed according to the resistance of the material. After the bucket is inserted into the cargo pile, raise the boom and simultaneously retract the bucket while the vehicle continues to move forward.
