According to customs data, from January to July 2022, China's import and export trade volume of construction machinery was US $25.963 billion, up 28.6% year on year. The import amount was 1.73 billion US dollars, down 27.1% year on year; The export value was US $24.233 billion, an increase of 36.1%, and the trade surplus was US $22.503 billion, an increase of US $7.069 billion year-on-year.

In July 2022, the import volume was 229 million US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 29.7%; The export volume was 4.359 billion US dollars, up 57.4% year on year.

The export of complete machine increased by 37.8% year on year

In terms of import, from January to July 2022, the import of parts and components will reach 1.099 billion US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 22%, accounting for 63.5% of the total import. The import of complete machines was USD 631 million, down 34.6% year on year, accounting for 36.5% of the total imports. Among the main imported products, the import volume of crawler excavator decreased by 72% and 66.8% respectively year on year, and the import volume decreased by 176 million dollars year on year; The import of spare parts decreased by 310 million US dollars on a year-on-year basis. The main products with decreased import volume include crawler excavators, crawler cranes, high-power bulldozers, forklifts and other engineering vehicles. The main products with increased import volume are: rock drilling machinery and pneumatic tools, loaders, concrete mixing machinery, pile drivers and engineering drills, tunneling machines, etc.

In terms of exports, the total exports of complete machines totaled US $15.711 billion, up 37.8% year on year, accounting for 64.8% of the total exports; The export of spare parts reached USD 8.522 billion, up 33% year on year, accounting for 35.2% of the total export. From January to July, the main machines with increased export volume were crawler excavators, forklifts, off highway dump trucks, loaders, etc. The decrease in exports includes crawler cranes, elevators and escalators, pile drivers and engineering drilling rigs, asphalt mixing equipment, tunnel boring machines and pavers.

Africa, Latin America, the Russian Federation and other regional markets saw a large increase in exports

From January to July this year, the export of construction machinery to the six continents rose significantly, including $10.079 billion to Asia, accounting for 41.59% of the total export, an increase of 24.5%; Exports to Africa reached 2.198 billion US dollars, accounting for 9.07% of the total exports, with a year-on-year growth of 41.6%; Exports to Europe reached 5.425 billion US dollars, accounting for 22.4% of the total exports, with a year-on-year growth of 37.8%; US $3.129 billion was exported to North America, accounting for 12.9% of the total export, with a year-on-year growth of 50.7%; Exports to Oceania reached 1.186 billion US dollars, accounting for 4.9% of the total exports, with a year-on-year growth of 51.4%; Exports to South America reached US $2.217 billion, accounting for 9.15% of the total exports, with a year-on-year growth of 62.7%. Among the six continents, except Asia, which accounts for the largest proportion, the growth of other continents exceeded the growth of total exports.

In terms of market distribution and changes in major export regions, ASEAN, Africa, Latin America, the European Union and the United Kingdom take the lead. Regional markets with large growth rates mainly include Africa, Latin America, the Russian Federation and the United States.

In terms of major export countries, the export volume to the United States, Indonesia, Russia, Mexico, Australia, Vietnam, Brazil, India, Belgium and other countries and regions in the top 20 accounted for 68.1% of the total export volume of China's construction machinery in the first half of the year, and continued to maintain the main market position of China's construction machinery.

In the first half of this year, China's exports of construction machinery from countries along the "Belt and Road" totaled US $10.008 billion, accounting for 41.3% of all exports, with a year-on-year growth of 27.44%. Exports to BRICS countries reached US $3.481 billion, accounting for 14.4% of total exports, up 52.7% year on year.

The main characteristics of the export of construction machinery products in the first half of this year:

1、 From January to July this year, China's construction machinery continued to show a relatively high growth rate. In July, the export showed a trend of accelerated growth, which again broke the record of the highest monthly export volume. In June, it was close to $4 billion, and in July, it broke through the $4 billion mark, reaching $4.3 billion. The cumulative export volume has approached the highest export volume of 2019 before the epidemic.

2、 From January to July this year, the overall import was stable at a low level. As in April, the decline in import volume continued to expand, and the import volume was less than that of February during the Spring Festival holiday. The average import volume from January to July fell below 250 million dollars.
