Cummins has announced that it will introduce a new Cummins integrated powertrain for high horsepower applications in 2021. The Cummins X15 Performance Series engine will match the Eaton Cummins Endurant XD 18-speed automatic mechanical transmission.

This new product is based on the market-proven Cummins X15 Energy Series engine (X15 Efficiency Series) and Endurant gearbox matching powertrain product development, aimed at high gross vehicle weight (GVW) and roads operating in harsh environments The vehicle / non-road engineering equipment is optimized and matched, and the application scope is further expanded. The product is currently undergoing extensive road testing and is expected to be available in 2021.
According to reports, this latest multi-purpose powertrain series product launched by Eaton Cummins Joint Venture (abbreviation: Eaton Cummins), to meet the needs of professional drivers and operators, tailor-made parameter configuration, even novices can control freely. The product development process was closely coordinated and guided by the senior customer committee, and was eventually recognized.
The Endurant XD automatic transmission has up to 18 forward gears and 6 reverse gears, as well as the standard large-capacity bottom 8-bolt rear power take-off, which makes the design of the host device more flexible and the power to drive the necessary accessories more abundant. Transmission oil coolers are also available when necessary.
Equipped with Cummins X15 performance version engine, this new 18-speed powertrain can also cope with the most demanding applications and load cycles, and has the industry's leading engine braking solution, which can effectively reduce the pressure on the service brake.
