Zhan Chunxin believes that there are three deficiencies in the integration of artificial intelligence with the industrial field. The first is that the application started late. At present, artificial intelligence is applied to many industry scene areas, forming an "AI + industry" development model. However, due to the characteristics of strong professionalism, large differences, and high thresholds in industrial manufacturing, artificial intelligence started to develop late in the industrial field. According to the Xinhua News Agency ’s "Economic Reference" report in September 2018, the average annual growth rate of the Chinese artificial intelligence market exceeds 40%, but 23.4% of the investment is in the commercial and retail sectors, 18.3% is in autonomous driving, and manufacturing is related Of artificial intelligence investment is less than 1%. According to iResearch, the penetration rate of AI technology in the manufacturing digital economy in 2018 is about 0.4%.


Secondly, the foundation is weak. Due to factors such as inadequate investment in IT infrastructure and digital platform construction, industrial enterprises have varying levels of digital applications. In April 2019, the China Information and Communication Research Institute released the "White Paper on the Development and Employment of China's Digital Economy (2019)", showing that in 2018, the proportion of China's industrial digital economy was only 18.3%. The sensors, chips, Internet of Things, data, algorithms, computing power, applications, and talents required for industrial artificial intelligence applications have significant deficiencies.


Also, it is more difficult to integrate applications. Compared with the industry of consumption and service, the integration of artificial intelligence is more difficult. Specifically: First of all, the customized characteristics of industrial production lines determine that the application scenarios of artificial intelligence are difficult to quickly replicate and promote. Secondly, there are many types of industrial equipment, data collection is difficult, and the versatility is not high. In addition, the security requirements of data for enterprises, it is easy to form barriers, restricting the application and expansion of artificial intelligence in the industrial field. Again, there are many and complex industrial scenarios, and the overall solution is difficult.


For example, in the field of equipment manufacturing, there have been attempts to develop and apply artificial intelligence in the analysis of root causes of production lines and products, fault diagnosis of complex equipment, life prediction, process optimization, quality defect detection, and production line scheduling. There is still a lack of effective applications and systematic solutions.
