Jun 08, 2022

Ten Chinese enterprises ranked among the top 50 construction machinery manufacturers in the world in khl2022, and XCMG XCMG ranked third in the world and first in China with sales of US $18.1 billion.

According to the news from the official wechat of the global construction machinery information provider KHL group in the UK on June 4, the latest yellow table list published by the international construction magazine under KHL shows that the top 10 of the world's top 50 construction machinery host manufacturers in 2021 are caterpillar (13.9%), Komatsu (11%), XCMG (7.9%), Sany (7%), johndier (4.9%), Volvo Construction equipment (4.7%), Zoomlion (4.5%) Liebherr (4.1%), Hitachi construction machinery (3.9%) and Sandvik (3.2%).

According to the yellow table, in 2021, the total sales of the world's top 50 construction machinery host manufacturers reached US $232.7 billion, a year-on-year increase of 20.8%, the highest ever recorded. Among them, Caterpillar's sales in 2021 were nearly US $32.1 billion, Komatsu's US $25.3 billion, Sany Heavy Industry's US $16billion and John Deere's US $11.4 billion.

There are 10 Chinese enterprises in the list, XCMG XCMG and Sany Heavy Industries ranked third and fourth respectively, and Zoomlion fell two places compared with last year, ranking seventh. In addition, there are Liugong (15), China Longgong (27), Shanhe intelligent (32), Shantui (33), China railway construction heavy industry (34), Zhejiang Dingli (40) and Foton Lovol (42).

According to the report of off highway research, a research institution in the construction machinery industry, the world's top 50 main engine manufacturers sold about 1.2 million construction machinery equipment in 2021, with the sales volume rising by 9%, setting a record.

Construction machinery is a basic industry supporting the national economy, which is regarded as the "barometer" and "wind vane" of the national economy. It mainly includes excavators, earth moving machinery, lifting machinery, compaction machinery, concrete machinery and other equipment, which are used in real estate development, infrastructure construction, energy mining and other fields.

In the yellow table 2022 list, China's construction machinery enterprises account for 24.2% of the total sales, which is the country with the highest proportion; American construction machinery enterprises accounted for 22.9% of the total sales; The Japanese construction machinery market accounts for 21.2% of the total sales. (the data in the yellow table shows the operating revenue of the listed companies and does not represent the revenue performance of a region or a country as a whole. In addition, the data range of the list is based on the natural year of 2021, but in Japan, India and some other countries, the data range is fiscal year 2021, i.e. April 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022.)

According to the region where the enterprises are located, the operating income of Asian enterprises has decreased to 50.2% from 52.1% last year, and the operating income of enterprises in China, Japan and South Korea has decreased; The revenue of European enterprises increased to 26.3% from 25.2% last year, and that of North American enterprises increased to 23.2% from 22.3%.

It is worth noting that South Korea's "Doosan SM" and China's "railway construction heavy industry" are new enterprises on the list this year.

In August last year, Hyundai Heavy Industry Holding Company (hhih), the leading construction machinery company in South Korea, officially completed the acquisition of Doosan construction machinery. The acquisition was completed by hyundaigenuine (Hg), a holding company established by Hyundai Heavy Industries in July 2021. After the acquisition, Doosan construction machinery and Hyundai Construction Machinery became a subsidiary of Hg.

Previously, the sales of Doosan was included in Doosan construction machinery. Now, as a part of modern Doosan construction machinery, Doosan maintains independent operation, and its sales data are not included in modern Doosan construction machinery.

According to the yellow table, Doosan ranked 14th, modern Doosan construction machinery ranked 19th and modern construction equipment ranked 23rd. If the sales of these three companies are integrated, they will rank No. 7 in the list.

China railway construction heavy industry group Co., Ltd. (railway construction heavy industry, 688425) rose to No. 36 on the yellow table this year. CRCC Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., founded in 2007 and headquartered in Changsha, Hunan Province, is subordinate to China Railway Construction Co., Ltd. and mainly produces intelligent shield equipment and railway track equipment.

The biggest change in the list is Zhejiang Dingli Machinery Co., Ltd. (Zhejiang Dingli, 603338), a Chinese manufacturer of aerial work machinery, rising from No. 46 to No. 40. Zhejiang Dingli was listed for the first time last year and experienced two years of strong growth.

In the list of "top 20 global aerial work platform manufacturers in 2021" (access M20) released by KHL at the same time, Zhejiang ranks third in the world after American aerial work platform manufacturers "jieerjie JLG" and trexgini genie, which is also the first time that Chinese aerial work platform manufacturers have entered the top three in the world.

According to the data of China Construction Machinery Industry Association, the sales volume of aerial work platforms in China in 2021 was 160100 units, with a year-on-year increase of 54.6%. The industry believes that with the economic development and the improvement of industrialization level, China's aerial work platform market is still in the growth period. It is estimated that by 2025, the market scale of China's aerial work platform will reach 149966 million yuan, with a compound growth rate of 26.37%.

In addition, Swedish construction machinery giant Sandvik was newly listed in the list. In 102021, the enterprise acquired 14 businesses.

As the world's largest construction machinery market, China's sales showed a slight decline in 2021. According to the forecast of off – highway research, the sales of China's construction machinery will face another slight decline in 2022.

KHL said that based on the historical record of the total sales of the world's top 50 construction machinery host manufacturers in 2021, it is predicted that the data of yellow table will remain strong even if it will decline. According to the report of the main engine manufacturers, the orders of relevant equipment in the construction machinery industry have been full in 2022, and the sales will remain at a high point. Countries around the world continue to invest heavily in infrastructure. On the whole, the data of yellow table may show a downward trend and then an upward trend in the next few years.

KHL said that in the long run, the global construction machinery industry also needs to be vigilant against problems such as tight supply chains, rising prices, shortage of raw materials, and rising inflation.
