From January to June 2018, the total investment in fixed assets in highway and waterway construction reached 980.55 billion yuan, an increase of 1.4% over the same period of the year, and 54.5% of the target of 1.8 trillion yuan in 2018 was achieved. Among them, highway construction totaled 906 billion 580 million yuan in fixed assets investment, an increase of 1% over the same period last year. In the region, the eastern region completed the investment of 322 billion 540 million yuan, up 16.1% from the same period, and the central and western regions completed the investment of 171 billion 720 million yuan and 412 billion 310 million yuan respectively, 0.2% and 7.9% compared to the same period, and the construction of the waterway construction completed the investment of 51 billion 100 million yuan for the fixed assets. The railway completed 312 billion 710 million yuan in fixed assets investment, an increase of 0.1% over the same period last year, and completed the 42.7% target of 732 billion yuan in 2018.
