Mitsubishi Logisnext Launches “Endurance” Lithium-Ion Forklift Series for Cold Storage

Jul 09, 2026

Mitsubishi Logisnext has released the "Endurance" series of electric forklifts, specifically engineered for deep-freeze logistics. Standard electric forklifts suffer from capacity loss in cold environments because the electrochemical reaction in the battery slows down. A battery rated at 500 Ah at 25°C might only deliver 300 Ah at -20°C. Furthermore, hydraulic oil thickens in the cold, causing sluggish lift speeds.

The Endurance series utilizes a specialized Lithium-Ion battery with an integrated "Active Thermal Management" system. The battery management system (BMS) includes heating elements that keep the battery core at an optimal 20°C, ensuring full discharge capacity even when the ambient temperature is -30°C. Crucially, the heating system is powered by the battery itself but is insulated so efficiently that the energy cost to heat the battery is minimal compared to the capacity gained.

Additionally, the hydraulic tank is equipped with a 500-watt immersion heater controlled by a viscosity sensor. Instead of relying on a timer, the heater only activates when the oil viscosity exceeds a set threshold, ensuring the oil flows instantly on startup. This eliminates the "creep" effect where the forks move slowly for the first few minutes of a shift, improving productivity in freezer warehouses by up to 20%.
