Since 1963, since the mass production of 77 tons of dump trucks by Unit Rig in the United States, the mining dump trucks have developed 108 tons, 120 tons, 154 tons, 170 tons, 220 tons, 280 tons, 320 tons and 360 tons, according to the load weight. Of which 360 tons (400 short tons) level, there are three models, namely, Caterpillar 797F, Terex Unit Rege MT6300, Liebherr T282B.
In 1998, the world's largest truck, Caterpillar 797, debuted at the Caterpillar proving ground in Arizona. Its weight of 326 tons broke TITAN in one fell swoop, maintaining a world record of 20 years. The new overlord is 14.5 meters long, 9.2 meters wide and 7 meters high, with mechanical transmission and rear wheel drive. After weighing 261 tons and adding 326 tons of cargo, the total weight will reach 587 tons. Equipped with Carter 3524B type 24 cylinder diesel generator, with a displacement of 117 liters, the power reaches an astonishing 3400 horsepower, exceeding the power of a locomotive. The car can use 3217 liters of oil tanks, or 6813 litres of fuel tanks. Its fuel consumption is almost crazy, with an average fuel consumption of 100 kilometres near 800 liters, with a maximum speed of 64 kilometers per hour. 797 the 6 Mickey 59/80R63 tires are the largest tires in the world, with a diameter of 4.03 meters, weighing 5.3 tons and selling for 30 thousand dollars. Each wheel has a set of 42 inch brake discs behind it. 8 computers monitor the operation of oil pressure, torque, machine performance and tire temperature. Its price is also looked up to, and the minimum cost is 3 million 430 thousand dollars.
In 2002, Caterpillar launched an upgraded version of 797B with a capacity of 345 tons. At the September 2008 MINExpo exhibition, the latest version of 797F appeared. This model is equipped with a 106 liter Cat C175-20 ACERT diesel engine, with a maximum power of 4059 horsepower and still retained the traditional mechanical transmission of CAT, with an oil tank capacity of 7571 litres and a maximum speed of 67.6km/h. The price is also raised to $5 million 600 thousand.
In 1999, German Liebherr launched the T282 electric wheel dump truck with a capacity of 327 tons. The first one was used to transport the overburden in the Powder basin in Wyoming. In 2004, the T282B upgraded version was introduced. The load capacity was increased to 363 tons, and the vehicle volume was 222 cubic meters. The total length is 15.3 meters, the width is 9.5 meters, the height is 7.8 meters, and the empty car has 230 tons of self weight. It has two power configurations: MTU DD 20V4000 (2722kW, 20 cylinders, 90 liters of displacement, weight 10.5 tons) or Cummins QSK78 (2610kW, 18 cylinders, 78 liters of displacement, 11.3 tons of weight). The transmission adopts Siemens-Liebherr AC drive system, and the tyres are Michelin 56/80R63 or Bridgestone 59/80R63. The maximum speed is 64km/h. Liebherr T282B is also the largest AC drive vehicle in the world.
In April 2007, the US TEREX-UNITRIG company launched the MT-6300AC electric wheel dump truck at the BMW exhibition. This is the flagship model of the company. The empty car weighs 236 tons and the maximum load is 363 tons. The whole car is 15.3 meters long, 9.5 meters wide and 7.7 meters high. Using the same engine and tyre configuration as Liebherr T282B, the AC drive system is also used, with a maximum speed of 64 km. The first batch of products was delivered to North American Construction Group for oil sands in Alberta, Canada.
The three overlords represent the highest level of mining vehicles in the world today, and the competition between mechanical transmission and electric drive will continue. With existing technology, a mine truck with a load of more than 450 tons is only a matter of time. But now the opencast mining technology is more and more concerned with the reasonable matching of the electric shovel and the mine. It is recognized that the 3-4 shovel full of a car is the most economical and reasonable loading ratio in the world. The bucket capacity of the existing shovel is below 60 cubic meters, and the load of the bucket is less than 100 tons. Even if there are 450 tons of mine trucks, there is no suitable electric shovel.
In 2000, the United States has launched the 795B type electric shovel design scheme, the bucket capacity is 68.8 cubic meters, and the bucket load is 122.5 tons. Belarus belus, at the Las Vegas Mining Exhibition in October 2000, exhibited a model BELAZ-7570 dump truck with a load of 420-450 tons, a semi articulated frame with two 2700 horsepower engines with a total power of 5400 horsepower. Double axle 8 wheel 4 x 4 drive, maximum speed of 64 kilometers per hour. The design is similar to the 75501 type 280 ton engineering prototype developed by Belas in 1990. But over the past 10 years, the designs of Bellos and Belas remain on the blueprint. The future can be realized, and it still needs to wait.
