In order to lead the transformation of sustainable development and accelerate the electrification process, Volvo CE injected capital into the Dutch electric excavator manufacturer limach and threw out the olive branch of win-win cooperation.
Most of Volvo Construction Equipment's investment in limach's brand electric special technologies B.V will further improve the long-term road map of Volvo's electrification development, quickly fill the model gap of electric equipment on the basis of the existing five small electric equipment, and further expand the market share of Volvo Construction equipment electric products.
Limach is an innovative company providing customized electric wheel and crawler excavators for the Dutch market. Based on the traditional construction machinery products of Volvo Construction equipment company, limach uses mature lithium-ion battery technology to develop first-class motorized products.
Thomas bitter, technical director of Volvo Construction equipment, said: "Climate change is real. We believe that cooperation in new ways is the key to meeting the growing demand for sustainable solutions. As a leader in solutions for motorized construction machinery, we regard limach as an important participant and partner in the rapidly developing market and an important supplement to our existing electric product series, which means that more customers will be able to experience our motorized products and learn from them Benefit from it. "
Thomas bitter also mentioned: "in the process of continuing to promote the transformation to sustainable energy, Volvo Construction equipment and limach will learn and accumulate a lot of experience in sustainable solutions from working side by side to customer group integration."
At present, limach's products have achieved a full range coverage from e18.3 small electric excavator with a working weight of 1810kg to e140.1 electric excavator with a working weight of more than 14000kg, which plays a good complementary role to the existing electric product series of Volvo Construction equipment. Henri de Groot, chief technology officer of limach, said that limach would work with Volvo to provide customers with various solutions to help them achieve carbon emission reduction.
In the future, some internal combustion engines on Volvo excavators will be replaced by the electrification kit developed by limach.
Rens de Bruijn, chief executive of limach, said: "Limach was founded to develop electric construction machinery equipment. Each equipment is customized at our production plant in ED, the Netherlands, and delivered according to the needs of customers. Since the development of the first excavator prototype in 2017, we have seen the desire of Dutch customers for electric products. Thanks to the capital support of Volvo construction equipment, we can expand the production scale of electric excavators, expand the product line and launch more products More electric engineering machinery products to meet people's growing demand for electric equipment. "
After the capital injection of Volvo Construction equipment, limach will still operate independently, which is not expected to have a significant impact on the revenue or financial status of Volvo Group.
