The market trend report of Lee brothers in July 2022 has been released
In the latest report, we have studied the sales of construction and rolling equipment in the first half of 2022. In the US market, our comprehensive price index shows that the price of second-hand large and medium-sized earth moving equipment has increased by 15% and 20% respectively year on year, and the price of aerial work equipment has increased by 18%.
The price index of Canada also showed a similar trend, with the prices of large and medium-sized earth moving equipment rising by 14% and 19% respectively, and the prices of aerial work equipment rising by 10%. At the same time, the prices of trucks and trailers in the United States and Canada have maintained a strong momentum, with year-on-year increases of 39% and 31% respectively.
As we mentioned in our June report, although the price indicated by the index is higher than last year's level, the overall price has decreased by a single digit percentage compared with early 2022.
The sales volume in the U.S. market has declined, while the sales volume in the Canadian market is relatively stable
Through data comparison, we can see a major trend that the sales volume of equipment is decreasing, especially in the U.S. market, and the excavator and loader sectors have the largest decline. We also saw a sharp decline in the sales of all aerial work equipment.
Compared with the United States, the quantity of large earth moving equipment sold in Canada in the first half of 2022 is basically stable or slightly increased compared with the same period last year. The level of medium-sized earth moving equipment decreased slightly, while that of aerial working equipment decreased significantly. Compared with the American market, the equipment sold in Canada has a great difference in the degree of old and new. The year of excavator, wheel loader and skid steer loader is newer than that in the American market.
Rouse services retail market report
This report also includes data and insights from rouse services, which tracks sales data from hundreds of auction and retail companies. As of July 1, 2022, Rouse's retail and auction price indexes showed that the prices were + 30% and + 32% respectively compared with those in January 2016.
Doug Rusch, general manager of rouse department, said: "the sales volume of used equipment in all sales channels continues to be lower than that in the same period last year." "In June, the retail value of most equipment categories continued to rise, and the growth rate was lower than the level we have seen in recent months. After rising for 18 consecutive months, the auction price has stabilized. In some cases, the auction price of high-altitude equipment and medium-sized earth moving equipment has slightly decreased compared with the previous month, in sharp contrast to the record high price in recent months."
According to the data of rouse services, the retail value continued to rise in June, but fell back compared with previous months.
