Recently, American Cranes & Transport released the 17th annual act100 index of top hoisting enterprises in North America, with the lifting capacity reduced by 329339 tons compared with 2021, which is the first drop in the index in more than 10 years. In 2021, act100 added 89917 tons of lifting capacity year-on-year, with a total index of 2868110; In 2020, act100 added 159537 tons of lifting capacity year-on-year, with a total index of 2778193.
The ranking of the top 25 in act100 has not changed much
In the past year, most of the companies on the list have been selling cranes in an attempt to adjust the size of their enterprises. Although many companies have reduced the number of cranes due to the decline in efficiency, some companies have also made significant profits. The top 10 companies in act100 in 2022 are still the top 10 companies in 2021, and the top 3 companies have not changed at all. Only 4-10 companies have seen some ranking changes. Among them, Maxim crane works has been the first place on the list for 17 consecutive years, Buckner heavylift has risen two places year on year, and bigge crane & rigging, Marmon crane services and TNT (TNT crane & Rigging) are also among the top ten.
In 2022, the number of branches increased to 784, an increase of 24 from 760 in 2021. At the same time, the number of employees in 2022 also set the highest record in act100 history. In 2022, act100 had 41032 employees, compared with 36987 in 2021.
In 2022, 3129 crawler cranes will be included in act100 index statistics, and 3288 in 2021; In 2022, the number of mobile cranes included in the index was 15557, and in 2021, it was 16351, both decreasing. Although M & A activities are not as frequent as in the past few years, they still have a certain impact on the act100 index.
The data also shows that the top 25 in act100 has not changed much. The largest company newly added to the act100 list in 2022 is alliance crane & equipment, with an act index of 26599 tons, ranking 23rd.
North America's largest crawler crane lifting company
In 2022, the largest crawler crane lifting company in North America was Lampson international, with a total of 393 crawler cranes. The second is maxim, with 389 sets. In addition, Maxim owns 1750 mobile cranes and is the largest mobile crane hoisting company in North America.
The largest cranes on the act100 list are PTC 200 ds of mammoet and sgc-250 of sarens, both of which have a lifting capacity of 5000 tons. Other heavy cranes include the ltl-3000 of Lampson international and the versa crane tc36000 / S2 of deep South crane & rigging, with a lifting capacity of 3000 tons.
