LiuGong Launches “Intelligent Lift” System for TC-Series Truck Cranes

Aug 05, 2026

LiuGong Machinery Co., Ltd. has officially launched an upgraded "Intelligent Lift" safety system for its TC80 and TC100 series truck cranes. In wind farm construction and port operations, sudden wind gusts are a major cause of crane tipping or boom damage. Traditional safety systems only monitor the load weight and boom angle, reacting passively.

The Intelligent Lift system introduces "Active Wind Compensation." An anemometer mounted on the boom tip provides real-time wind speed data to the crane's ECU. If the wind speed exceeds 12 m/s, the system automatically triggers a "Safe Mode." In this mode, the maximum allowable load is automatically derated by 20% to account for the dynamic load of wind pressure. If the wind gusts exceed 15 m/s, the system locks out telescoping and luffing functions, allowing only boom lowering to a safe position.

A core engineering innovation is the "Anti-Rope-Out Logic." During lifting, if the operator tries to lower the hook when it is resting on the ground or a load, the wire rope can slacken and "bird-cage" (tangle) on the drum. The system uses a boom angle sensor and a length counter to calculate the "Absolute Height" of the hook block. If the hook approaches the ground (within 1 meter) and the tension sensor detects zero load, the system overrides the lowering command to prevent slack rope. Additionally, the system features "Load Moment Fusion," combining data from the pressure sensor on the lifting cylinder and the angle encoder. This fusion eliminates the measurement errors common in traditional systems when the boom is near vertical, ensuring the crane operates safely within its load chart limits.
