Sany Introduces “Matrix-Heating” Intelligent Temperature Control for Large Pavers

Sany Heavy Industry has officially launched the "Matrix-Heating" intelligent temperature control system for its SAP90 series large asphalt pavers. In traditional paver operations, the screed plate is heated by a single large burner or resistance bars. This often leads to uneven heat distribution-the center of the screed gets too hot (burning the asphalt and causing "smoking"), while the edges remain too cool (causing the asphalt to stick and tear). This thermal gradient creates "thermal segregation," a major cause of premature road cracking.

The Matrix-Heating system divides the screed plate into multiple independent "Thermal Zones." Each zone is equipped with a dedicated electric heating bar and a PT100 temperature sensor. The system uses a "Master-Slave" control architecture. A central ECU monitors the temperature of each zone and compares it to the target temperature (typically 130°C). If a zone deviates by more than 5°C, the system uses a PID (Proportional-Integral-Derivative) algorithm to adjust the power output to that specific zone.

The engineering breakthrough is the "Anti-Deformation Logic." The system monitors the ambient temperature and the material flow. If the paving stops for more than 10 minutes, the system automatically lowers the target temperature to 100°C to prevent "baking" the asphalt and warping the screed plate due to thermal expansion. When paving resumes, it rapidly heats the screed back to 130°C. This precision control extends the life of the screed plate by 30% and eliminates the "streaking" defects often seen in the center of the road lane, significantly improving the smoothness and lifespan of the highway.
