Russia intends to levy taxes on American pavement engineering machinery

Jun 29, 2018

Russian officials say tariffs will be imposed on road construction machinery from the United States. It is believed that this move will benefit Russia's Oleg Deripaska.

GAZ, which controls Russia's largest road engineering machinery group, is now subject to economic sanctions by the United States, and he recently asked the Russian government to buy products from 00486-HK, another company, to mitigate the impact of U.S. sanctions.

In response to the U. S. sanctions against Russian individuals and businesses and tariffs on Russian steel and aluminum, Russian economy minister Maxim Oreshkin, accompanying President Putin on Tuesday, said it decided to impose tariffs on a variety of American products, including pavement engineering machinery, which constitutes a market competition for Russian local enterprises. The Russian government will publish a list of taxes in the next few days.
