SANY Heavy Industry has officially launched the "Active-Sway" boom stabilization system for its 56X series truck-mounted concrete pump. When pumping concrete at heights exceeding 50 meters, the heavy flow of concrete through the pipeline, combined with wind loads, causes the boom to oscillate violently. This "pendulum effect" makes it difficult for the operator to accurately position the discharge hose, leading to concrete spillage and structural stress on the boom pins.
The Active-Sway system integrates a "Tri-Axial MEMS Gyroscope" at the boom tip. The sensor measures the lateral acceleration and angular velocity of the tip. The engineering innovation is the "Anti-Phase Counter-Luffing Logic." When the gyroscope detects the boom swaying to the right, the ECU instantly sends a signal to the electronic proportional valve controlling the 2nd and 3rd section luffing cylinders. The system commands the cylinders to push the boom slightly left, generating an opposing force that cancels out the oscillation.
Furthermore, the system features "Concrete Flow Reaction Compensation." When the pump piston strokes (delivering a surge of concrete), the reaction force pushes the boom backward. The system monitors the pump stroke frequency and pre-emptively adjusts the boom angle to counteract this rhythmic recoil. This active damping reduces the boom tip amplitude by 75% within 2 seconds, allowing precise pouring even in 30 km/h crosswinds and reducing metal fatigue stress on the boom structures by 40%.
