XCMG XCA750 All Terrain Crane Extends Superheavy-Lift Envelope with Dual-Engine Power and 92-Meter Telescopic Boom

Oct 09, 2026

XCMG's XCA750 represents the upper tier of the manufacturer's all-terrain crane lineup - a 750-ton-capacity machine built around a seven-section, 90.5-to-92-meter telescopic boom and a seven-axle carrier. The crane's defining application is wind turbine erection and heavy infrastructure work, where the machine's telescopic boom must reach hub heights previously achievable only with lattice-boom crawlers. A hydraulically erected wind turbine extension stows on top of the main boom and can be deployed in approximately 25 minutes, taking the maximum hook height to 115 meters - at which height the crane can handle up to 62 tonnes. On the fully extended main boom without the extension, capacity reaches 107 tonnes at working radius.

The engineering significance of the XCA750 lies in how it bridges the gap between all-terrain mobility and lattice-crane-class capacity. A "Y-shaped superlift" attachment adds additional capacity for long-boom and jib configurations, supporting heavy nacelle and blade lifts at extended radii. The seven-axle carrier uses a high-load independent suspension system offering up to 560 millimeters of ground clearance and handling axle loads up to 30 tonnes, with six of the axles driven - a configuration aimed at Chinese and emerging-market wind farms where the crane must traverse unpaved farm tracks and mountain passes between turbine sites. Gradeability of 30 percent supports these transit conditions.

The crane is powered by a dual-engine configuration - a Weichai WP15H660E61 driving the carrier's travel system and a separate engine powering the upper structure's hoist, swing, and hydraulic functions. This dual-engine architecture is now standard practice in the superheavy all-terrain class: it allows the crane to comply with China VI emissions standards for on-road travel while providing the continuous high-power hydraulic supply the upper structure requires during long-duration lift cycles. A maximum load moment of 21,000 kN·m and maximum hoist height of 155 meters (with full jib configuration) extend the machine's envelope into ultra-heavy industrial erection work, including petrochemical reactor and power-plant module lifts. Combined with the crane's H-shaped outrigger system and multiple outrigger-span selections, the XCA750 positions itself as a wind-farm flagship competing directly with Liebherr LTM 1750 and Grove GMK7550 class machines, at a price point that has begun to shift the global superheavy all-terrain market.
