In quarry and heavy earthmoving applications, the balance between engine power and hydraulic flow is critical. Traditional systems use a simple "Power Mode" switch that runs the engine at a fixed high RPM, wasting fuel during light-duty phases like swinging or leveling.
The SPU+ system introduces an "Electronic Engine Governor" linked to the "Main Pump Displacement Sensor." The controller monitors the "Swash Plate Angle" of the hydraulic pump. When the pump displacement is low (indicating low hydraulic demand), the system instantly reduces the engine fuel injection quantity and RPM to the optimal point on the "Islands of Efficiency" map.
The engineering innovation is the "Pre-Emptive Torque Reserve." The system analyzes the "Joystick Lever Input Rate." If the operator moves the joystick rapidly (indicating an intention to start a heavy dig), the system predicts the upcoming load spike. It pre-positions the engine throttle and pump regulator *before* the load actually hits. This eliminates the "engine lag" (stumble) often seen in conventional eco-modes when suddenly hitting hard rock. Furthermore, the system features a "Reverse Flow Regeneration" circuit. When the boom lowers, the hydraulic oil from the piston side is routed directly to the rod side via a dedicated regeneration valve, reducing the load on the main pump.
