XCMG Launches XT2506E Electric Telehandler with Fully Electronic Hydrostatic Drive for Multi-Terrain Material Handling

Oct 02, 2026

XCMG has launched the XT2506E, an all-electric telehandler targeting construction, manufacturing, logistics, and agriculture applications that demand both the lifting versatility of a telehandler and the zero-emission operation of an electric machine. Traditional telehandlers rely on diesel engines paired with hydrostatic transmissions, which produce exhaust emissions and noise that preclude their use in enclosed warehouses, food-processing facilities, indoor demolition, and green-building projects with strict site-emission requirements. The XT2506E directly addresses this gap.

The machine is powered by a large-capacity lithium-ion battery pack feeding a permanent-magnet traction motor for the drive system and a separate electric motor driving the hydraulic pump for the boom, steering, and auxiliary attachment circuits. The engineering innovation is the "Fully Electronically Controlled, Post-Compensated Variable-Displacement Pump System" combined with "Adaptive Electric Proportional Power Control." This architecture allows the controller to dynamically allocate power between the traction motor and the hydraulic system based on the simultaneous demand for travel, lift, and steering-delivering smooth compound movements that traditional single-point telehandlers struggle to achieve.

The XT2506E features "Full-Axle Steering and Drive" with three selectable steering modes: front-wheel steering for road travel, four-wheel steering (crab steering) for lateral movement in tight aisles, and coordinated four-wheel steering for a tight turning radius in confined spaces. The machine supports a quick-change attachment interface compatible with over 30 attachments, including forks, buckets, hooks, jibs, and work platforms, with automatic attachment recognition that loads the correct hydraulic flow and lift-capacity chart for each attachment. This integrated intelligent architecture, combined with the zero-emission electric powertrain, makes the XT2506E suitable for continuous operation in enclosed industrial environments where diesel telehandlers have historically been prohibited.
