Lonking Introduces “High-Speed” Electric Forklift Series for Logistics Hubs

Jul 22, 2026

Lonking has launched a new "High-Speed" series of electric counterbalance forklifts (KE series), specifically designed to replace internal combustion (IC) forklifts in high-intensity logistics hubs. Traditionally, electric forklifts were limited by travel speed and acceleration, making them unsuitable for long-distance transport in large warehouses. The new KE series bridges this gap through a "Dual-Motor Drive" architecture.

Instead of a single large motor, the KE series uses two smaller, high-speed AC motors connected to the drive axle via a planetary gear reduction box. This setup allows for higher torque density. The machine can accelerate from 0 to 12 km/h in just 4 seconds, matching the acceleration of a 3-ton diesel forklift. The system uses a high-voltage (80V) architecture with lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery technology. The high voltage reduces current flow, minimizing heat generation in the cables and controller.

The engineering highlight is the "Smart Thermal Management" system. The battery pack is equipped with liquid cooling plates. If the battery temperature rises during high-intensity cycle work, the cooling system automatically activates to maintain optimal cell temperature. This prevents thermal derating, ensuring the forklift maintains its top speed even during the afternoon shift. The system also features "Regenerative Braking" that recovers up to 30% of the energy during braking, extending the working time per charge and reducing the heat load on the mechanical brakes by 50%.
