XCMG has officially launched the "Paver-Fleet" intelligent coordination system for its RP903 paver and MTG110 material transfer vehicle (MTV). In high-grade asphalt pavement construction, the quality of the road surface is highly dependent on the continuous and uniform supply of hot mix asphalt. Traditional construction relies on visual coordination between the paver operator and the MTV driver, often leading to "start-stop" operations that cause temperature segregation and surface undulations.
The Paver-Fleet system establishes a dedicated short-range communication (DSRC) link between the two machines. The paver acts as the "Master," continuously transmitting its real-time hopper level, travel speed, and screed extension width to the MTV. The MTV's control system automatically adjusts its conveyor belt speed and travel speed to match the paver's demand.
A key engineering innovation is the "Temperature Compensation Logic." An infrared thermal sensor array mounted on the paver's receiving hopper monitors the temperature of the incoming asphalt mix. If the temperature drops below the optimal compaction range (e.g., below 140°C), the system signals the MTV to increase the unloading speed to flush the cooler material and replace it with hotter mix from its storage bin. Additionally, the system features "Anti-Collision Intervention." Using rear-facing LiDAR on the paver and forward-facing radar on the MTV, the system maintains a precise safety distance of 1.5 meters. If the MTV approaches too fast, the system automatically applies its service brakes, preventing a collision that could damage the paver's augers. This automation ensures a smooth, continuous paving operation, increasing daily paving mileage by 15% and eliminating the thermal cracks associated with stop-and-go paving.
