Sany Unveils “Smart-Pilot” Digital Hydraulic System for New Generation SY375H Excavator

Sany Heavy Industry has officially released its latest SY375H large-tonnage hydraulic excavator, featuring the "Smart-Pilot" digital hydraulic system. This system represents a paradigm shift from the traditional negative flow control (load-sensing) system to a fully electronic "Independent Metering" architecture. In conventional hydraulic systems, the main control valve and hydraulic cylinder are mechanically linked, where the valve opening determines the flow speed. This often leads to "throttling loss"-a significant amount of energy is wasted as heat when high-pressure oil passes through a narrow valve opening.

The "Smart-Pilot" system separates the "inlet" (meter-in) and "outlet" (meter-out) functions of the main control valve. The valve blocks are controlled by high-speed proportional solenoids, decoupled from the mechanical joystick. When the operator moves the joystick, the controller calculates the optimal valve opening area based on the load pressure and the engine's power curve. This "precise calculation" eliminates unnecessary throttling resistance, significantly improving fuel efficiency.

A key engineering innovation is the "Recovery Potential Energy" function. During boom lowering, traditional excavators rely on counterbalance valves to create backpressure, generating heat. The Smart-Pilot system detects the gravitational potential energy of the boom and automatically switches the return line to a "regeneration circuit." This energy is recovered to recharge the accumulator or assist other actions. Furthermore, the system features "Active Anti-Sway" logic. By controlling the inlet and outlet flow differentials, the system actively suppresses the pendulum effect of the bucket, significantly improving loading efficiency and safety.
