Volvo CE Refreshes L110H Midsize Wheel Loader with Enhanced Load Assist and Optimized Torque-Parallel Linkage for 2026

Oct 06, 2026

Volvo Construction Equipment has confirmed an updated L110H wheel loader configuration for 2026, refining the machine's intelligent payload management system and boom linkage geometry to push mid-class loader productivity higher. The L110H sits in Volvo's midsize wheel loader segment - an operating weight of approximately 18,000 to 20,700 kilograms, 256 hp gross power, and 1,250 Nm peak torque - positioned as a versatile workhorse for quarry loading, agricultural bulk handling, and general construction. The 2026 update centers on Volvo's "Load Assist" telematics and weighing system, which integrates onboard weighing with real-time insight into bucket load, fuel consumption, and cycle time via the CareTrack telematics platform.

The Load Assist On-Board Weighing feature now delivers payload accuracy within ±1 percent on every bucket scoop - even when the machine is weighing while in motion - allowing the operator to confirm that each truck is loaded to its optimal payload without underfilling (wasted haul cycles) or overfilling (overload fines and axle damage). This load-tracking data feeds directly into the fleet's production reporting, giving quarry managers visibility into per-machine, per-shift tonnage moved and enabling data-driven matching of loader fleet size to haul-truck capacity. Combined with the L110H's torque-parallel linkage - which keeps the bucket angle nearly constant through the lift cycle, reducing material spillage and improving truck loading precision - the updated machine delivers faster cycle times with less material loss per pass.

The 2026 update also carries refinements to the loader's operator environment, including the standard Volvo air-suspension operator seat, Bluetooth radio, steering knob for single-lever machine maneuvering, sliding door window for enhanced visibility during bucket loading, and the optional co-pilot camera system for improved rear visibility when reversing in confined yards. The optional onboard weighing system has been extended to integrate with adaptive ride control - a hydraulic accumulator system that cushions boom bounce during loaded travel - reducing material spillage on the return leg of each loading cycle and further improving the loader's effective payload per shift. Together, these refinements position the L110H as a productivity-focused mid-class loader against the Caterpillar 962, Komatsu WA320, and CASE 721G in the highly competitive 17-to-22-ton segment.
